    Lecturer - Department of Psychology

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Teaching and evaluation of undergraduate and postgraduate students
    • Setting, moderating, administering, processing, and marking examinations.
    • Academic advising and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.
    • Development of teaching and learning materials.
    • Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in research activities.
    • Undertaking research and Community outreach
    • Participate in meetings and conferences related to research and building inter-disciplinary collaboration within and outside the department.
    • Participating in the preparation of the Department and Faculty strategic plans.
    • Organizing and supervising educational activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
    • Attending and participating in seminars, workshops, conferences, etc., in relevant fields.
    • Participating in administrative, academic, and consultancy activities in the Department and other organizations.
    • Participating in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula in the Department.
    • Attending and participating in the Departmental meeting and other activities for effective and efficient management of the Department and Faculty.
    • Undertaking administrative duties and other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • An earned PhD degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognized university.
    • Must be registered by the Kenya Counselling and Psychologists Board
    • At least three (3) years of university teaching or research/industry experience
    • At least two (2) articles in a refereed Journal.
    • Proven ability to conduct research and supervise postgraduate students (Master's and/or PhD levels).
    • Experience in curriculum development, online teaching, and pedagogical skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    A competitive remuneration package, which includes basic salary, house allowance, and medical cover as per the University Scheme, will be provided. Tutorial Fellows are employed on one (1) year renewable contract up to a maximum of three (3) years.
