Legal Associate

- Location Nairobi
- Job Field Legal and Regulatory
Key Accountabilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice on investment transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructuring initiatives.
- Conduct legal due diligence on prospective investments and business partnerships.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
- Support corporate governance processes, including board and committee matters.
- Liaise with external counsel, regulators and other stakeholders on legal matters.
- Maintain and update legal records, contracts and statutory registers.
- Conduct legal research and provide timely legal opinions on emerging issues affecting thebusiness.
- Support the Company Secretary function as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law
- Advocate of the High Court
- Minimum of 2 years' post-admission experience
- Experience working as an in-house counsel or in a busy law firm preferably in corporate law, commercial law, litigation and conveyancing.
