Lodge Engineer at Sarova Hotels

Education & Experience

• Engineering Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical and Refrigeration
• At least 5 years as a Lodge Engineer or a Deputy Hotel Engineer.

Responsibilities

• In charge of the Repairs & Maintenance operations at the Lodge
• Undertake preventive maintenance of Guest Rooms, Public areas, Mechanical, Heating, Ventilation, Air-
• conditioning, Electrical, Plumbing, Kitchen & Laundry Equipment’s, Boilers, Generators, carpentry,
• Painting/Polishing, Civil & Masonry, Horticulture and any other maintenance related jobs in the lodge.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure that decor, furnishing and maintenance requirements are actioned.
• Plan, direct and manage the internal administration of Engineering Department
• Ensure a fast turnaround of downtime in guest service equipment.
• Co-ordinate with the outside agencies for repair and maintenance work.
• To check all log books daily and take corrective measures accordingly.
• To obtain a thorough knowledge of firefighting appliances and conduct Fire Safety Trainings.
• Maintain Inventory of all engineering items, Tools and Equipment’s.
• Ensure the lodge complies with environment regulations and adhere to the waste management standards as per the environmental authority requirements.
• Ensure all annual inspections are carried out and to keep all relevant licenses updated.
• Ensure all R&M staff are well groomed and use all the necessary working equipment and protective clothing at all times.
• Conduct performance appraisals and identify staff training needs
• Identify high performers in the department for reward and recognition.
• Promote and lead energy saving culture in the lodge.
• Regularly conduct Energy Management and Safety Committee Meetings and implement action plan.
• Uphold the Health and safety standards.
• Prepare monthly departmental reports.
• Plan for manpower, material and operational stocks.
• Ensure that all records are up-to-date and kept in accordance with company and statutory regulations.
• Comply with all company procedures for movement of company assets.
• In case of any emergencies, act in an engineering capacity to protect our guest and employees, and preserve the
• building and its systems.
