( JOB GRADE KFC 3) – JOB REF NO: KFC/HRA/MFA/2021

Job Purpose

The Finance Function is anchored on the provisions of Public Finance Management Act 2012, and regulations.

The cadre is responsible for ensuring prudent and optimum utilization of Councils funds and preparing financial reports.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must: –

1. Have a minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been in a management position;
2. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:– Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration (Finance/Accounting), Actuarial sciences, Business Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
3. Masters degree in any of the following disciplines:- Finance, Business Administration (Finance option), Business Management (Finance option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
4. Be Certified Public Accountant (CPA)K by Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination (KASNEB) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
5. Be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or any other recognized professional body in good standing;
6. Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
7. Be proficient in computer applications;
8. Have demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results; and
9. Met the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
