    Migori County is a county in the former Nyanza Province of southwestern Kenya. It is located in western Kenya and borders Homa Bay County, Kisii County, Narok, Tanzania and Lake Victoria to the West. The county also borders Uganda via Migingo Island in Lake Victoria.

    Member- MCPSB - 5 Positions

    Overall duties and responsibilities of the Board 

    The duties and functions of all the Board members shall be performed on behalf of the county  government and as outlined under section 59(1) of the CGA, to:

    • Establish and abolish offices in the county public service
    • Appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the  Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments
    • Exercise disciplinary control over, and remove, persons holding or acting in those offices  as provided for under Part VII of the CGA
    • Prepare regular reports for submission to the county assembly on the execution of the  functions of the Board
    • Promote in the county public service the values and principles referred to in Articles 10  and 232 of the Constitution
    • Evaluate and report to the county assembly on the extent to which the values and  principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 are complied with in the county public service
    • Facilitate the development of coherent, integrated human resource planning and  budgeting for personnel emoluments in counties
    • Advise the county government on human resource management and development
    • Advise the county government on implementation and monitoring of the national  performance management system in counties
    • Make recommendations to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, on behalf of the  county government, on the remuneration, pensions and gratuities for county public  service employees.

    In the case of any other members—

    • Possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university  and working experience of not less than five (5) years; and
    • Is a professional, demonstrates absence of breach of the relevant  professional code of conduct

    • Hand delivered applications should be dropped at the office of the County Secretary at the county headquarters. 
    • All applications should reach the Chairperson of the Selection Panel for Migori County Public Service Board on or before Thursday 18th May, 2023 at 5:00pm. 
    • Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original identity cards, academic  and professional certificates and testimonials. 

    For candidates to meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010,  applicants must obtain the following clearances: 

    • Tax compliance certificate from KRA 
    • Clearance certificate from HELB 
    • Clearance certificate from Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC) 
    • Certificate of good conduct from Criminal Investigation Department 
    • Clearance from the credit reference bureau(CRB)
