Municipal Principal Superintending Engineer (Civil) (Re-advertised) - 4 Posts at Migori County Public Service Board

Duties and Responsibilities

• Management and coordination of work in the preparation of scheme design;
• Production of drawing for projects in the annual Work Program;
• Controlling activities on site;
• Supervision of project during construction and maintenance;
• Monitoring and expenditure;
• Liaising with client departments on matters relating to design briefs and expenditure;
• Management and coordinate civil works;
• Establishment of standards and better civil engineering detailing;
• Monitor and evaluate sketch/ scheme designs done by consultants for necessary recommendation for approval;
• Evaluation of consultants’ fees and make recommendations for payment;
• Assessment of training needs in the units;
• Design and supervision of construction and maintenance of civil and other public works and;
• Responsible for research activities, administration and supervision of all staff working under him/her.

Requirements for Appointment

• Served in the grade of Senior Engineer (Civil) or comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for at least (3) years
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent qualifications from recognized institution;
• A Masters degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage
• Registered by Engineering Registration Board of Kenya (ERB);
• Cooperate member with institution of Engineers Registration Board (IEK);
• Current valid annual Practicing License from Engineering Registration Board of Kenya;
• Attended a Project Development and Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in Computer application skills;
• Demonstrated general administrative ability required for direction, control and implementation of Civil Engineering programs and;
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
