Job Summary
The People & Culture Intern will serve as an integral support member of the P&C team, contributing to the day-to-day HR operations. This entry-level role is designed to provide foundational exposure to core HR functions - including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, policy compliance, and records management.
The intern will gain practical experience in implementing HR processes that align with Chancen’s values and local labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding Support:
- Assist in posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires.
- Prepare and organize new hire documentation and orientation materials.
Employee Records & Administration:
- Help maintain and update employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support the management of staff trackers (probation, leave, etc.).
- Assist in organizing digital HR documents.
HR Policy & Compliance:
- Support the implementation and communication of HR policies.
- Help ensure compliance with local labor laws in Kenya.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports and audits.
Employee Engagement & Culture:
- Help coordinate team-building events, wellness programs, and staff activities.
- Support internal communications related to P&C initiatives.
- Assist in administering employee feedback tools and surveys.
Training & Development Support:
- Help coordinate training sessions and track participant attendance.
- Support the development and distribution of training materials.
- Assist in monitoring training budgets and records.
General P&C Support:
- Provide administrative support to the P&C team as needed.
- Assist with benefits administration for the Kenya team.
- Participate in P&C projects related to diversity, inclusion, and organizational development.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Recent graduate or final-year student in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in HR/People & Culture.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in HR, admin, or office management is an advantage.
- Familiarity with HR software or tools is a plus.
- Experience in a multicultural or international environment is desirable.
