    Student Application & Monitoring Trainee Intern

    Job Summary

    This role will be to support the Student Application & Monitoring team in supporting the candidates and student (also called 'Members') management processes from application to onboarding and monitoring.

    The role requires strong interpersonal communication skills, proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite and a willingness to learn fast. It is a great opportunity to hone your skills and learn more about the education space whilst making a positive impact.

    Main Responsibilities:
    The Intern’s role will be to support the Student Application & Monitoring team by:

    • Supporting outreach activities, including but not limited to tertiary education institution visits, Information and Pre-graduation sessions with students, among others. 
    • Supporting the Student Application & Monitoring Manager and the CHANCEN team in administrative activities.
    • Support the Student Application & Monitoring in assessing the accuracy of the data collected from students’ applications during the onboarding process.
    • Support in filing all student Members’ documents in the proper files and sharing with the Supervisor for checks.
    • Working closely with the wider CHANCEN International team to ensure good collaboration.
    • Prepare all materials and documents needed for any educational institution visits, education fairs, or events that CHANCEN will be taking part in.
    • Support the Student Application & Monitoring team to conduct the ISA contract signing process between CHANCEN and the student applicants.
    • Support the coordination and scheduling of home visits in collaboration with the program team.
    • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

    Requirements

    Educational Qualifications and Minimum Requirements: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related field.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of administrative or customer service experience (internships, part-time work, or volunteer experience acceptable).
    • Experience working with students, young people, or in educational settings (preferred).
    • Previous involvement in outreach or community engagement activities (preferred).

    People & Culture Trainee Intern

    Job Summary

    The People & Culture Intern will serve as an integral support member of the P&C team, contributing to the day-to-day HR operations. This entry-level role is designed to provide foundational exposure to core HR functions - including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, policy compliance, and records management.

    The intern will gain practical experience in implementing HR processes that align with Chancen’s values and local labor regulations.

    The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn, and passionate about supporting people-centered initiatives. This internship is an excellent opportunity to build professional HR skills while contributing to an organization dedicated to equity, access, and sustainable impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    Recruitment & Onboarding Support:

    • Assist in posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
    • Support the onboarding process for new hires.
    • Prepare and organize new hire documentation and orientation materials.

    Employee Records & Administration:

    • Help maintain and update employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Support the management of staff trackers (probation, leave, etc.).
    • Assist in organizing digital HR documents.

    HR Policy & Compliance:

    • Support the implementation and communication of HR policies.
    • Help ensure compliance with local labor laws in Kenya.
    • Assist in preparing compliance reports and audits.

    Employee Engagement & Culture:

    • Help coordinate team-building events, wellness programs, and staff activities.
    • Support internal communications related to P&C initiatives.
    • Assist in administering employee feedback tools and surveys.

    Training & Development Support:

    • Help coordinate training sessions and track participant attendance.
    • Support the development and distribution of training materials.
    • Assist in monitoring training budgets and records.

    General P&C Support:

    • Provide administrative support to the P&C team as needed.
    • Assist with benefits administration for the Kenya team.
    • Participate in P&C projects related to diversity, inclusion, and organizational development.

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications & Skills

    • Recent graduate or final-year student in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
    • Strong interest in pursuing a career in HR/People & Culture.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Basic proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

    Preferred Experience

    • Previous internship or volunteer experience in HR, admin, or office management is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with HR software or tools is a plus.
    • Experience in a multicultural or international environment is desirable.
