Job Description/Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution
• Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution including knowledge of GIS.
• Must have worked as a planner for a minimum of Two (2) years;
• Have demonstrated professional competence, ability, integrity and result oriented;
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and
• Any other relevant duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Chief Officer

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparing physical development plans, undertaking feasibility studies on Physical, Social, Economic and Environmental characteristics
• Preparing county spatial plan including Towns/local centers development plans, Special areas plans, Subject/ thematic plans
• Vetting and verification of building plans, regulation of the use of land, execution of development control and preservation orders
• Resolving conflicts arising from physical planning processes
• Initiating and undertaking research on urbanization strategies and policies
• Compliance, Enforcement and Development Control
• Preparation of budgets and work plans
• Any other relevant duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Chief Officer
