    Principal Alignment and Validation

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

    For appointment to this grade an officer must have at least;

    1. Eight (8) years relevant work experience four (4) of which must have been at supervisory level;
    2. Bachelor’s degree (KNQF Level 7 or equivalent) in Education, Economics, Architecture, Engineering, statistics, Social Sciences, Science or related field from a recognized university in Kenya;
    3. Master’s Degree (KNQF Level 9) in Curriculum development, quality assurance, assessment and examination, Economics, Statistics, Project Management, Sciences, Social Science, Higher education, Comparative Education or related field from a recognized university in Kenya;
    4. Professional qualification and membership where applicable;
    5. Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks;
    6. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution;
    7. Proficiency in computer applications.

    Responsibilities:

    Key Duties and responsibilities entails;

    1. Supervising and conducting alignment and validation of foreign qualifications;
    2. Supervising and conducting validation of prior learning; 
    3. Developing, monitoring, evaluating, reporting and reviewing regulations, policies, guidelines and tools on alignment and validation; 
    4. Planning and scheduling for assessment of application for alignment and validation; 
    5. Supervising the recruitment and facilitation for the training of alignment and validation peer reviewers; 
    6. Maintaining linkage and partnerships stakeholders; 
    7. Liaising with education regulatory bodies, curriculum developers, qualifications awarding bodies and other government ministries and agencies;
    8. Guiding, advising and appraising officers under their supervision
