Job Summary

• We are seeking a disciplined, professional, and hospitality-oriented Private Chef / Housekeeper to support the smooth running of a structured private residence in Thika.
• The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for daily meal preparation and kitchen management, while also supporting general housekeeping duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and hospitality within the residence.
• This role is best suited for a mature male candidate who is reliable, discreet, organized, and capable of working in a respectful and professional household environment. The successful candidate will be live-in.

Key Responsibilities

Cooking & Kitchen Management

• Prepare daily meals for the household in a timely and professional manner
• Prepare a variety of Kenyan meals and simple continental dishes
• Maintain high kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
• Plan and organize kitchen supplies and grocery needs
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food items
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas at all times

Housekeeping Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the residence
• Assist with household errands and related support tasks when required
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and hospitality-focused environment

Requirements & Qualifications

• Male candidate strongly preferred
• Previous experience as a chef
• Ability to prepare a variety of meals confidently and consistently
• Good housekeeping and organizational skills
• Honest, disciplined, respectful, and trustworthy
• Strong personal hygiene and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism within a private residence
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Hospitality or housekeeping training is an added advantage
• Valid Food Handling Certificate is highly preferred
• Certificate of Good Conduct is required
• Willingness to work in a live-in arrangement required
