    Pro Bono Lawyers

    MiRight NGO is seeking dedicated and compassionate Pro Bono Lawyers to join our team in providing legal assistance to marginalized communities. As a Pro Bono Lawyer with MiRight, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who may not otherwise have access to legal support.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal assistance and representation to individuals facing legal challenges, particularly those from marginalized communities.
    • Conduct consultations with clients to assess their legal needs and provide guidance on available options.
    • Draft legal documents, including but not limited to petitions, motions, and affidavits, as necessary for legal proceedings.
    • Represent clients in court hearings, mediation sessions, and other legal proceedings, advocating for their rights and interests.
    • Collaborate with other legal professionals and organizations to leverage resources and expertise in addressing complex legal issues.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential case records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
    • Participate in outreach activities and community legal education initiatives to raise awareness of legal rights and resources available to underserved populations.
    • Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and integrate new knowledge into legal practice to better serve clients.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Law from an accredited institution.
    • Admission to the Bar and in good standing with the relevant regulatory body.
    • Prior experience in providing legal services to underserved communities is preferred but not required.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
    • Excellent research and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
    • Commitment to social justice and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while adhering to deadlines and maintaining professionalism.
    • Proficiency in relevant legal research tools and software.

    This is a volunteer position with flexible hours, and Pro Bono Lawyers will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful legal advocacy efforts while gaining valuable experience in public interest law.
