    Procurement Buyer

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to Head of Procurement, the Responsible for cost-effective procurement of goods and services to support the company in line with the policy and manage all Britam Vendors.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Develop list of supplier categories and requirements as per identified procurement needs of the business.
    • Participate in tendering and supplier prequalification.
    • Participate in preparation of annual procurement planning.
    • Ensure costs savings without impacting the quality of goods and services procured.
    • Supplier creation, update and maintenance.
    • Receive applications from interested suppliers and perform due diligence checks.
    • Monitoring of supplier performance.
    • Ensuring compliance with the Procurement rules and procedures by enforcing and training the users.
    • Transmit purchase orders to external vendors, track and expedite to ensure timely delivery as per specifications.
    • Monitor and inform the Head of Procurement on status of ongoing contracts and expired contracts.
    • Record and maintain the filing systems of all documents both in soft and hard copies i.e. contracts, copies of LPOs and quotations files in an orderly and efficient manner.
    • Provide assistance to user departments, when required, in the preparation of specifications, Category management.
    • Sourcing of goods and services and preparation of analysis.
    • Presentation at tender committee.
    • Timely processing of PO.
    • Preparation of monitor KPIs report on TAT achievement.
    • Delegated Authority:  As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Logistics, Business administration/Management or related Field.
    • Hold a Diploma in Procurement and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), or its equivalent.
    • 4- 6 years’ experience in procurement in a busy organization.
    • Knowledge in Procurement Operational Procedures.

    Technical/ Functional competencies

    • Knowledge in Procurement Operational Procedures.
    • Report writing-ability to develop reports.
    • High moral and ethical standing.
    • Highly motivated.
