Job Summary

• The job holder will oversee procurement department, develop and implement procurement strategy, co-ordinate purchasing practices and maximize benefits from purchasing activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, publish, issue procurement and disposal documents including invitation to tender, supplier prequalification and invitation to expression of interest
• Maintain and update annually standing list of registered and approved suppliers required by the organization.
• Coordinate the evaluation and analysis of tenders, quotations and proposal, prepare summary reports and commendations to facilitate the effective award of business.
• Oversee the suppliers prequalification process, monitor designated contracts to ensure suppliers obligations are fully discharged.
• Carry out periodical market surveys to inform the placing of order or adjudication by the relevant award.committee.
• Acts as secretary to the tender, procurement and disposal committee
• Work in liaison with the stores officer on stock levels and re-order levels for the next purchase.
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management /Purchasing and Supplies.
• Master's degree in any business related field added advantage.
• Must be a member of KISM or CIPS.
• Minimum five (5) years' experience in a busy procurement environment.
• Must be a computer literate and have integrity.
• Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
