Procurement Officer (Automotive) – Nairobi at Summit Recruitment and Search

Key Responsibilities.

• Identify, assess, and select reliable suppliers and vendors for automotive parts, administrative needs, and related services.
• Conduct market research to track industry trends, pricing, and material availability, supporting informed sourcing decisions.
• Design and implement cost-effective procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and operational requirements.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring compliance with company policies, legal, and ethical standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and long-term partnership.
• Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery timelines, and after-sales support; address non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
• Work with workshop, admin, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels, avoiding shortages while minimizing holding costs.
• Coordinate logistics for timely material transportation, customs clearance (if applicable), and efficient supply flow.
• Ensure all procurement activities meet quality standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Track key procurement KPIs (cost savings, lead times, supplier performance), prepare reports, manage budgets, and support cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Key Qualifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional certifications (preferred): CIPS, CPSM, or APICS.
• 5+ years of procurement experience.
• Proven track record of sourcing automotive components, aftermarket parts.
