    Program & Outreach Lead, Entrepreneur Academy

    Role Overview

    • The Program & Outreach Lead will play a key role in conducting outreach and managing the delivery of the program. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, developing, and managing our outreach programs in target communities. This involves setting long-term and short-term outreach goals, budgeting, communication, investor relationships, education of junior staff and volunteers, marketing, and event/project coordination. As the Program and outreach Lead you will collaborate with various internal teams to ensure the effectiveness of all program and outreach efforts. To successfully build and execute outreach programs, you will also be required to develop and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with the community/ecosystem,  NGOs, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
    • This is a full-time position in Nairobi, Kenya. We operate a hybrid model where you will be required to be in the office at least three days a week.

    Responsibilities

    As a Program & Outreach Lead you will be required to:

    Marketing & Outreach:

    • Conduct market research and share market insights with the relevant teams.
    • Work with the communications team to develop marketing collateral aligned with our brand.
    • Collaborate with all the relevant teams to run outreach/marketing activities both online and offline.
    • Develop outreach strategies that will ensure we reach our target audience.
    • Record and share user feedback with the relevant teams.

    Program Delivery:

    • Coordinate all the program logistics, from securing the workshop location, to ensuring all the workshop material is ready.
    • Execute all the program communication with participants, such as welcome emails, calendar invites, and phone calls where relevant.
    • Follow up with program participants to ensure they are on track and aware of where they are on the program journey.
    • Develop and execute a participant engagement plan with the Design team.
    • Collect, record, and share user feedback and performance.
    • Generate reports as required.
    • Support the Design team when needed.

    The ideal candidate is or possesses…

    • Previous experience in planning and executing impactful community activities or events.
    • Proven ability to mobilise resources in order to carry out the strategic objectives of an organisation.
    • Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise, complete work accurately, meet deadlines and follow through. 
    • Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Ability to work independently, entrepreneurially, and innovatively.
    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively across different levels, with local and international teams and stakeholders.
    • A  passion for education in Africa, with a keen interest or experience as an entrepreneur.
    • Preference for candidates who have worked in an Edutech startup or an organisation that works with young people.
    • Experience working with diverse groups and populations is a plus. 

    Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience either in a marketing role or a program management role with some outreach experience.
    • Undergraduate or honours graduate degree in a related discipline
    • Strong collaboration and project management skills are a must.
    • An interest in empowering young people is a must.
    • Experience working in Kenya.
