    Quality Team Lead

    Role Overview

    • We are hiring on behalf of our client, Sierra Premium Breweries, for a Quality Team Lead responsible for overseeing and leading the physico-chemical and microbiological laboratories. The role ensures accurate and timely analysis, adherence to sampling plans, and full compliance with quality and food safety standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting production by maintaining consistent product quality, ensuring effective laboratory operations, and guiding a high-performing quality team.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise the physico-chemical and microbiology laboratories, ensuring all analyses are conducted accurately and on schedule.
    • Ensure all laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used according to standard operating procedures.
    • Oversee the preparation, availability, and proper handling of reagents, chemicals, and standard solutions.
    • Review and approve all laboratory test results, ensuring timely reporting with clear recommendations.
    • Monitor brewing, fermentation, and filtration processes to ensure compliance with required quality standards.
    • Investigate customer and internal quality complaints and drive corrective and preventive actions.
    • Conduct and supervise taste tests and train sensory evaluation panelists.
    • Lead, train, and evaluate laboratory analysts, ensuring strong performance, safety compliance, and continuous development.
    • Implement and support Quality, Food Safety, HACCP, and QSHE systems, including documentation and risk assessments.
    • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly quality reports and maintain complete and accurate laboratory records.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Food Processing Engineering/Technology, or related field.
    • 2–4 years’ experience in Quality Assurance (physico-chemical and microbiology).
    • Experience in the beverage industry is highly preferred.
