    EAVCA is a business membership organization that serves as the voice of private capital investors in East Africa. The Association was formed in 2013 to promote partnership between capital providers and business in the region, while at the same time showcasing the opportunities for investment in East Africa. Today, EAVCA serves as the interlinking platform for public stakeholders, local businesses, and private investors, building on dialogue and industry insights to create a sustainable, informed eco-system that advances economic growth, social and environmental welfare and wealth creation in the region. With offices in Kenya and a regional office in Uganda, EAVCA's membership comprises financing institutions such as: development finance institutions, private equity and venture capital funds, impact funds, family offices and intermediary advisory companies.

     

    Research Analyst

    Who should apply:

    This job is for you if you enjoy writing, getting involved with clients and talking to management teams to hear their views, are passionate about data, have a head for facts and figures and are able to form your own view and be able to articulate and defend it.

    Job Description:

    1. Information origination by interacting with management
    2. Stay on top of current events by closely analyzing and distilling industry information for unique insights which can guide members with their investment ideas
    3. Carry out industry surveys that lead to production of country focused, regional focused, and sectoral research reports and presentations
    4. Communicate research findings and themes to EAVCA members and other stakeholders to further EAVCA’s objective of building an informed ecosystem for private investment inflows
    5. Present research findings at various EAVCA events and conferences
    6. Actively track and update the regional deals portal
    7. Support EAVCA marketing by providing intelligence content for publication
    8. Provide any other support needed

    Qualifications:

    1. A minimum qualification in data science, mathematics, economics or business-related degree
    2. Ability to distil large amounts of information into specific insights
    3. Ability to create and write thought leadership reports
    4. Ability to originate information through qualitative methods such as interviews and conversations with management teams
    5. Basic understanding of economics, private equity and venture capital
    6. Outstanding attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy
    7. Experienced user Microsoft Office. Knowledge of advanced analytics tools or research programming language is a plus
    8. Strong analytical capability: ability to synthesize complex relationships• Strong written and verbal communication and excellent presentation skills.
