    Research Scientist - Homa Bay

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conducting nutritional assessment, counselling and support for study participants as per study protocol
    • Supervising home visits for follow-up dietary assessments at household level as per the study protocol
    • Discussing with study team the nutrition and eating habits reported by participants and monitor progress
    • Train study team on anthropometry
    • Perform project level planning, monitoring, and evaluation of the nutritional activities
    • Plan and coordinate dietary assessment of participants
    • Ensure smooth implementation according to ethical guidelines, management,
    • Superviseimplementation of the study protocol and provide technical Nutritional support to study team.
    • Participate in development of Standard Operating Procedures for the study and plan and conduct protocol specific trainings of study team.
    • Guide data team on data collection instrument choices and review of data collection CRFs for appropriateness to protocol procedures.
    • Conduct scoping reviews and systematic reviews on L-arginine supplementation in pregnancy
    • Maintain regular liaison with study management team.
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirement Type

    • Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Nutrition; Human Nutrition and dietetics from a recognized institution    
    • Training in Integrated management of acute malnutrition (IMAM) and Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) will be an added advantage.    
    • Be proficient in computer application.
