Retail Sales Representative - Professional Pest Management at Syngenta

Position Summary:

To support this mission, Syngenta’s Professional Pest Management Team is seeking an energetic Retail Sales Representative in Nairobi, Zambia. This role is Syngenta’s representative to channel (distributors and retailers) expected to create demand and awareness for Syngenta’s PPM products. The successful candidate will be responsible for product stewardship, training retailers and distributors on products, monitoring and tracking stocks at retailers, following up on payments and maintaining good relationships and demand with retailers.

Accountabilities:

• Developing and delivering sustainable sales growth of Professional Pest Management (PPM) portfolio within the designated sales area
• Creating and fostering a professional relationship with potential and all existing retail channel partners based on solid business principles
• Serving as a product expert for the PPM portfolio and properly stewarding product portfolio by making sound recommendations to end users
• Providing training support for retail channel partners and consumers where needed
• Achieving/exceeding quarterly and yearly revenue objectives by delivering robust sales activity plans
• Analyzing market opportunities, developing and presenting creative proposals in alignment with the Sub-Saharan Africa PPM Go-to-Market strategies to drive sales growth
• Providing market intelligence and market potential information in the designated sales area
• Collaborating with SPS Technical Manager and the Marketing Manager to implement technical support activities and marketing campaign plans
• Monitoring business performance of retail channel partners and ensuring overall business targets are achieved as per the agreed business plan
• Interacting with retail channel partners including presentation of products information and promotional materials
• Supporting the sales & operation planning process by delivering accurate and timely sales forecast and sales plans for Sales Area
• Following-up on payment collections and ensuring on-time payment from the distributors
• Preparing and providing weekly reports and sales analysis for business reviews as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Agriculture or related field
• Minimum 2 years in-field experience in sales
• Good technical understanding and experience will be an added advantage
• Relevant knowledge of the Professional Pest Management market, distribution networks, customers and competitors
• Excellent presentation and product demonstration skills and experience
• Strong sense of customer focus and the ability to build trust with retail channel partners in the designated sales area
• Good computer Skills
• Demonstrated of excellent sales and negotiation skills
• A valid driving license for a motor bike advantageous
• Ability and willingness to travel on a motorbike for extensive distance
