    Risk and Compliance Officer

    Reports To Senior Risk and Compliance Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Participate in risk management and compliance planning
    2. Review the adequacy and effectiveness of risk mitigation measures within the Companies functions and identify opportunities for improvement
    3. Discuss risk assessments and compliance review findings with the process owners and agree on the recommendations for improvement
    4. Conducting detailed risk and compliance reviews in accordance with approved risk and compliance programs
    5. Participate in the development and review of organizational policies and procedures
    6. Facilitate identification of business improvement opportunities and optimization of resources
    7. Prepare preliminary written risk assessment or compliance review report for each review
    8. Ensure compliance within the department

    Key Performance Indicators:

    1. Report writing – Issuing timely accurate and relevant compliance reports
    2. Up to date Policies & Processes
    3. Outstanding compliance on risk matters
    4. Internal Client management
    5. 100 % Attendance to compliance training

    Education & Experience:

    1. Academic Qualifications
      1. Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field (Accounting,
      2. Actuarial Science, Finance and Management).
    2. Professional Qualifications
      1. In any of these (CISI/CIFA/CFA/CPA/ACCA) – Added advantage
      2. Risk Certifications – added advantage
    3. Specialist Knowledge (Indicate the additional specialist
    4. skills the job requires in addition to qualifications)
    5. • AMLCFT Training

    Minimum work Experience

    1. 2 years of experience in risk & compliance in a financial
    2. institution

    Functional Competencies:

    1. Understanding of relevant financial regulations and
    2. legislation, risk management frameworks and risk

    Reporting.

    1. Financial and accounting knowledge
    2. Strong communication skills
    3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    1. Ethical and principled
    2. Analytical and diligent
    3. Willingness to learn
    4. Ability to work under pressure and minimum supervision
    5. Ability to work long hours
