    Sacco Manager

    Job Purpose:
    The Sacco Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing daily operations, ensuring financial sustainability, marketing  and driving growth in line with the SACCO’s mission and objectives. Sacco Manager reports to the Board of Directors and works closely with stakeholders to enhance member value, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and strategic marketing initiatives to ensure growth.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Excellent Customer Service and aggressive marketing to ensure strong commitment to member service and satisfaction and exponential growth of Sacco.
    • Responsible for the overall day-to-day administration of Sacco’s activities.
    • Interpreting and implementing the decisions of the Board.
    • Providing leadership to Sacco employees.
    • Ensuring effective management of the Sacco’s business in the best interest of the Sacco and other stakeholders.
    • Ensuring the development and implementation of strategic and business plans.
    • Overseeing the development of operational plans and budgets for approval by the Board.
    • Ensuring compliance with the laws of Kenya.
    • Overseeing the development and implementation of various Sacco policies.
    • Developing management succession plans for the Board’s approval.
    • Presenting management reports to the Board.
    • Creating an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale among the staff.
    • Ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective use of all Sacco resources and assets.
    • Appraising the performance of the Managers who directly report.
    • Ensuring there is effective communication between the management and the Board.
    • Acting as the principal spokesperson of the Sacco.
    • Participating in the Board of Directors’ meetings and Executive Committee meetings.
    • Ensuring that proper books of accounts, records, and returns are kept, and that accurate regular financial, statistical, and operational information is prepared and submitted to the Board of Directors.
    • Securing funds and assets of the Sacco.
    • Assist the Finance Manager with regulatory issues.
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote Sacco’s products and services, ensuring growth and member acquisition.
    • Ensure that there is adequate liquidity to meet financial demands (i.e., savings, withdrawals, and operating expenses).
    • Ensuring that all rents, rates, levies, and debts due from and to the Sacco are paid and received respectively by the due date(s).
    • Performing any other lawful duties as may be assigned by the BOD.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Commerce/ Business Administration/ or any other Business-related or Sacco Management degree.
    • CPA (K), ACCA an added advantage.
    • Ten (10) years of practical experience in a busy financial institution, of which four (4) years must be in a management position.

    • Training in leadership and management skills; ability to facilitate the development and implementation of strategic plans, visionary thinking, and the capacity to drive organizational growth and proven ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
