Senior manager, API & Integrations at KCB Bank Kenya

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate comprehensive business strategies that leverage open API technology to enhance customer experience, drive revenue growth, and gain a competitive edge.
• Define the API product strategy and roadmap.
• Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with fintechs, banks, technology providers, and other stakeholders to expand the ecosystem of open API solutions.
• Negotiate and finalize agreements with partners to ensure mutually beneficial collaborations.
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing innovative fintech products and services, utilizing open API architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features and enhancements.
• Work closely with the compliance and risk management teams to ensure that all open API initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Implement robust risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the integrity and security of financial data.
• Provide strategic guidance and direction to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Monitor and manage the financial performance of open API initiatives, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring profitability and sustainability.
• Represent KCB in industry events, conferences, and forums to advocate for open API adoption and establish the organization as a thought leader in the fintech space.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

• A bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or any other related field from a recognized university
• Professional Qualifications and Relevant certifications in a technical field e.g. Product Management/Project Management/ AGILE Practices
• Master’s degree in technology or business-related field will be an additional advantage. 
• At least five (5) years’ experience in leading digital channels and managing teams, including experience in the following:
• 5 years in Integrations and Open APIs
• 5 years in Developing fintech products and services, utilizing open APIs architecture.
• 4 years in Building relationships with Banks, Fintechs and Telcos 
• 3 years in Project/Product Management 
• 3 years in  People management
• 3 years in financial services, Sales & Service
