Senior Records Management Officer (KMFRI Grade 6) at Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI)

Duties and responsibilities in this position will entail:

1. Ensuring security of information, documents, files, records, and office equipment in a registry/archives;
2. Ensuring mail are received, sorted, opened, and dispatched and related registers are maintained;
3. Ensuring sorting, classifying, and indexing of documents for filing;
4. Ensuring storage, updating and maintenance of personnel records and file index;
5. Ensuring control in opening of open, confidential, and secret files; 
6. Ensuring custody and Maintenance of Institute’s documents; 
7. Coordinating digitization of the Institute’s documents for circulation and archiving. 

Requirements for appointment/Persons Specification

1. At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a comparable position and institution.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in information science management, Records Management or any of the Social Sciences plus a Certificate in Records Management/Information Management or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
3. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C Plus  (C+) from the Kenya National Examination Council or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
4. Proficiency in computer applications;
5. Demonstrated good results in work performance; and
6. Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
