Senior Renewable Energy Assistant at Rural Electrification Authority

Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities for the different functions will entail:- 

• Supervising entry level Renewable Energy Assistants’ activities;
• Collecting data on solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves energy;
• Compiling and maintaining data on solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves energy and activities;
• Obtaining and documenting feedback from various consumers on solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves energies;
• Preparing list of materials for solar, wind small hydro and tidal waves energy demonstrations, training and displays;
• Organizing solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves energy demonstrations during trade fairs, training workshops and field displays;
• Work with service providers in implementing solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves energy projects for REREC;
• Collecting and distributing solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves energy promotional materials;
• Sensitizing stakeholders on viability and/or importance of on solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves technologies; and
• Facilitating sensitization on solar, wind, small hydro and tidal waves energies.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

• A minimum of four (4) years’ relevant work experience;
• Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Forestry, Energy, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Energy, Civil, Water) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications;
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
