Statistical Analyst at Strathmore University

Basic job summary:

To be responsible for collating and evaluating institutional data for purposes of manipulation into usable information that can improve and inform decision making in the Strategy and Quality Assurance department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Administer the affairs of the Institutional Data Analysis Unit and ensure that it achieves its aims and executes its mandate effectively.
• Plan and conduct institutional studies and reports that support the University’s academic programs and decision making.
• Analyze data and prepare reports in cooperation with peers in SQA and other University departments to support institutional planning and reporting official institutional data to government agencies, professional organizations, and accrediting bodies.
• Prepare and publish internal and external reports and surveys in cooperation with SQA peers and other departments.
• Perform market analysis to test the viability of new degree programs and current relevance of older programs.
• Develop, implement, and oversee techniques and procedures for automated and integrated data capture, analysis, and dissemination for the university.
• Develop tools to facilitate the reporting required for assessment and regional and specialized accreditation.
• Participate in professional forums and keep abreast of trends and issues pertaining to institutional effectiveness and incorporate best practices into the University’s initiatives.
• Provide support for program reviews, accreditation visits, University Council meetings, and other requirements

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Statistics or Mathematics or any related field from a recognized institution.

Experience:

• At least two years’ experience with exposure to a business environment
• Demonstrated Analytical Skills
• Basic understanding of information Technology Concepts
