    Sustainability Analyst

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Take ownership of all sustainability assessments and reporting
    • Conduct sustainability assessments, including environmental, social, and economic impact assessments
    • Review all policies, procedures, and operations regarding sustainability
    • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
    • Monitor the company's sustainability performance, including its progress toward sustainability goals, the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, and compliance with sustainability regulations
    • Report on sustainability performance
    • Take a leading role in the definition and development of sustainability strategies to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint, minimize waste, and improve social responsibility
    • Create action plans and timelines for the implementation of strategies
    • Mobilize teams to achieve and implement sustainability strategy timelines and goals
    • All training on sustainability issues, such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable operations
    • Education of all employees on the benefits of sustainability practices
    • Encouragement, through training and other programs, of participation in sustainability projects
    • Engagement will provide all stakeholders, including clients, management, and community groups, to understand key priorities, goals, and concerns
    • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into the sustainability strategy, reporting, goals, and training
    • Ensure unit Managers are sufficiently trained in Positive Impact, ensuring they can train their staff and talk to guests with passion and understanding of “their” projects
    • Engage with Positive Impact partners at least once a quarter, including annual MOUs, project reports, and audits
    • Visit each PI partner at least once annually, as well as spend at least half a day at one of their projects
    • Contribute to the quarterly Positive Impact Council meeting, including agenda, project updates, budget input, and minutes when required
    • Co-ordinate the Positive Impact Agenda in Kenya, working closely with the Group Communications direct, the Tanzanian Positive Impact coordinator, Country Sustainability coordinators, and Regional Operations Director
    • Keep up to date on all sustainability trends and best practices

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental studies, or a related field
    • 5+ years’ experience in sustainability, environmental studies, or corporate social responsibility
    • Good understanding of the hospitality sector in Kenya
