Systems Accountant at BBOXX

Role Brief:

• The Systems Accountant will be primarily responsible for overseeing the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of financial software systems to support accounting processes. The business currently operates in 16 countries and is providing access to clean energy solutions supported by the development of pioneering software management systems. As such, there is a requirement to evaluate the existing financial systems and implement operational and functionality improvements, expected to be delivered through a systems migration programme. SAP ByD has already been implemented in most of our markets and 2024 full roll-out is expected for the remaining 4 Legal Entities.

What you can expect to be doing:

• Maintaining the health of the business financial systems – SAP ByD software.
• Assist & Project Manage SAP ByD implementations.
• Designing, testing, and implementing new solutions and process and system enhancements.
• Identification of system issues and generation of reports based on findings through to resolution.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation of business processes.
• Manage technical requirements, and set up financial systems to maintain backups, updates, and develop improvements.
• Customization - workflows, scripting, custom records.
• Systems health checks.
• Financial Report development.
• Project and stakeholder management, at times across multiple geographies and time zones; and
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day issues with financial related applications.
• Balance delivery of highly complex strategic projects alongside tactical sprints across the business.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Highly Desirable SAP ByD experience (System Admin, Finance and Supply Chain modules);
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls is essential.
• Experience in SQL query language is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and project management experience.
• Able to interact and collaborate with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Capability to quickly assimilate business requirements, articulate current and future state, and lead users and stakeholders on solution design.
• Experience in mobile money or high transaction business environments (advantage). ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualification not essential but finance background a must.
