Vertical Form, Fill, Seal (VFFS) Packaging Machine Operator at Crystal Recruit

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate packaging machines according to established procedures and specifications, including adjusting machine settings as necessary to ensure proper product weight, size, and appearance
• Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions, and perform routine maintenance as needed, such as cleaning and lubricating machinery, and replacing worn or broken parts
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment, product quality, or production efficiency
• Ensure packaging materials are properly loaded and fed through the machine, and that finished products are properly labeled, coded, and packaged for shipment
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including following proper machine lockout/tagout procedures, using personal protective equipment, and reporting any safety hazards or incidents
• Maintain accurate production records and report any issues or concerns to supervisory staff
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals and ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience operating vertical form, fill, seal packaging machines or similar equipment preferred
• Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as equipment manuals and production schedules
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to detect and correct quality issues
• Basic math and computer skills, including the ability to perform calculations, enter data, and use computerized equipment controls
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
