Transport Coordinator at GCC Services

Description

We are looking for a competent Transport Coordinator to oversee and facilitate the daily transport requirements of the distribution center operations of our company. You will be the one to coordinate personnel and processes to achieve the effective distribution of goods. A great asset for a Logistics Coordinator is their communication and negotiation skills. They are also well-versed in supply management principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have great record-keeping abilities and a customer-oriented approach. The goal is to ensure the smooth operations of a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency.

As the Transport Coordinator, your main responsibilities would include:

Responsibilities

• Coordination and monitoring of supply chain operations
• Coordination of daily transport requirements such as allocation of containers for loading, requesting of trucks for delivery, requesting and planning DFS, Container and Trucks Clearance, loading cargo into containers and driving forklifts, or other vehicles to move or carry materials from one point to another
• Coordinating and planning with the support of the Supervisor on the Daily Transport activities
• Monitoring the Delivery Schedule and timely requesting of Trucks for Road Transportation
• Make sure all requests are handled within 48hrs ahead of schedule, i.e: Gross Weights for Air Transportation and DFS, containers and trucks clearance for Sea Transportation
• Loading containers in line with Agility DGS loading SOPs
• Allocating Containers in line with Transport KPI
• Requesting for PTI and making sure they are all cleaned in line with Agility DGS Food Safety Policy.
• Covering for Transport Clerk and assisting in uploading loading pictures and preparing daily reports
• Complying with the application of the ISO9001 and ISO 22000 standards
• Prepare accurate reports for upper management

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Proven experience as logistics coordinator with a minimum of 1-year experience in operating warehouse and material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
• Honest, trustworthy
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP)
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes; attention to detail
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and ISO requirements
• Experience in customer service will be appreciated
• High School Diploma or Colleage diploma an advantage
