Truck Driver at Emerge Egress Consulting

Role Objective

• Our client, an events company in Kenya, is seeking to hire a dependable and safety-minded Truck Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting event equipment and materials safely and efficiently, while ensuring timely deliveries and proper handling of goods. Occasional staff transport may also be required.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver event equipment and materials to designated locations safely and on schedule
• Check and confirm items before dispatch and upon delivery
• Handle unforeseen challenges such as traffic delays or vehicle breakdowns
• Provide transport support for staff when needed
• Comply with all traffic rules and safety standards
• Carry out routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
• Work closely with the logistics/events team to plan routes and schedules
• Ensure safe handling of goods to prevent damage during transit
• Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients and team members
• Plan efficient routes to save time and fuel
• Report any mechanical issues promptly
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and vehicle usage
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment at various sites
• Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth handling of inventory

  Job Specifications and Qualifications

• KCSE Certificate; additional education or certification in logistics or a related field is preferred. 
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. 
• At least 5 years of experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably in the logistics sector. 
• In-depth knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices. 
• NYS training is an added advantage.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
