Veterinary Officer at Nexus Staffing Solutions

Our client based in Naromoru is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly competent Veterinary Officer to oversee animal health management, disease control, and livestock productivity.

The ideal candidate must have strong clinical experience, sound knowledge of livestock management practices, and the ability to work independently in a farm-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent animal diseases
• Conduct routine health inspections and vaccination programs
• Develop and implement herd health management plans
• Monitor animal nutrition, breeding, and overall productivity
• Perform surgical procedures where necessary
• Maintain proper veterinary records and compliance documentation
• Provide technical advice to farm management
• Ensure adherence to animal welfare and biosecurity standards
• Train and supervise junior staff where required

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVM)
• Valid registration with the Kenya Veterinary Board
• Minimum 5+ years’ proven experience in veterinary practice
• Strong knowledge of livestock production systems
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
• Excellent reporting and communication skills
• High level of integrity and professionalism
