    Actuarial Consultant - Financial Institution Services Team (FIST)

    Main purpose of the job

    The successful candidate will support the Actuarial and Audit function by providing actuarial services to assigned clients spanning across banking, insurance, securities and funds industries.

    What you will do

    • Provide actuarial advisory and audit services to an array of clients in life/general insurance and the wider fields such as banking;
    • Develop a thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 17, and support implementation projects for our clients;
    • Support the development of project proposals and thought leadership initiatives;
    • Share expertise and knowledge with team members on an ongoing basis;
    • Provide actuarial models capacity building and analytical solutions for clients; and
    • Perform actuarial valuations for life insurance and/or general insurance.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science.
    • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
    • At least 3 professional exams from either SOA, IFOA or any other recognized actuarial body.
    • Exposure and experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 17 implementations will be an added advantage.
    • Well-developed actuarial programming skills (VBA, R and/ or Prophet will be an added advantage.
    • Open to local and international assignments.

    Tax Technology Manager

    Main purpose of the job

    The holder of this position will be responsible for assisting clients and the various business units within tax in identifying opportunities that could be resolved through the use of technology.

    What you will do

    • Lead, facilitate, and participate in department and business units level technology strategic initiatives;
    • Development, design and implementation of tax compliance tools for the business units use and clients, where applicable;
    • Evaluating the client's tax and business requirements to build the optimal Tax design leveraging on technology;
    • Develop/ maintain good working relationships with key client and internal stakeholders and keep them informed of challenges/ risks/ issues with technical solutions being implemented;
    • Continually research current and emerging technologies and propose changes;
    • Be in charge and the custodian of all the technological tools and templates in use by the business units within Tax & Legal;
    • Assist the business units in identifying the global tax technological tools, lead implementation/deployment of such tools and customizing/domesticating these tools for proper use by the business unit;
    • Actively participate in business development activities aimed at growing the business tax portfolio and revenues;
    • Assist in coordinating and managing tax webinars within the Tax & Legal function; and
    • Train and coach (classroom and on-job) other staff in the department on the various tax technological tools.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
    • At least 6 years’ experience in a relevant role.
    • Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA).
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
