    Assistant Manager Information System Audit

    The role holder will assist the Chief Audit Executive, in collaboration with the Manager, Group Information system audit in providing independent assurance on the Bank’s information systems, specifically on integrity, confidentiality, availability of information as well as providing assurance on information system governance, risk management and controls in place.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Incumbent will report to the Chief Audit Executive and will be responsible for:

    • Performing Information System audits across the bank as per the IS audit plan and in line with Internal Audit methodology, processes, procedures, and timeframes.
    • Providing reports showing areas of governance, risk and control weakness and recommending corrective measures.
    • Providing assurance that access to electronically stored corporate information is adequately protected and risks appropriately managed.
    • Reviewing compliance with the information security policy and associated procedures.
    • Reviewing IT documentation/procedures such as service level agreements, IT contracts, Disaster recovery plan/ Business continuity plan programs, ICT policy.
    • Continuously reviewing information system parameters and logs to ensure compliance with the IS policy and best practice.
    • Providing IS consultancy services for projects undertaken by the Bank during the year, ensuring compliance with best practice.
    • Support audit teams in the audit of related systems/modules within functions being audited.
    • Continuously developing and maintaining the skills, knowledge, and expertise to keep abreast of fast changing information systems threats to make valuable contributions in ensuring system security measures are in place for maximum protection of Bank Information assets.
    • In liaison with the Manager, Group Information Systems Audit, give assurance on key ICT layers within the Bank.
    • Support the audit team in employing data analytics in their day-to-day reviews.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology or related field from a recognized institution.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or equivalent mandatory, CISM/CIA/CFE/CEH an added advantage.; and
    • Member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

    Experience

    • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in Banking and Information Systems Audit.

    Technical competencies

    • Ability to write comprehensive reports and to perform complex reviews.
    • Ability to employ different tools to conduct data analysis

    Skills and Attributes

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills; and

    Generic Competencies

    • Assertive with excellent people-management skills.

    Manager Corporate Relationship

    PURPOSE:

    The incumbent is responsible for ensuring quality business growth of both the asset and liability book with an emphasis on the Asset book which falls under the corporate portfolio through prospecting for new clients for the Bank as well as the I&M Group, in line with targets and expectations. This role also ensures the retention of customers and growing the existing book through the deeper penetration into the existing customer’s business/ personal banking requirement and effective management of the relationship/customer experience.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Incumbent will report to the Assistant General Manager Corporate Banking and will be responsible to:

    • Manage and sustain a portfolio of corporate customers ensuring optimisation of value to both bank and customer, building long term viable relationships founded on credit principles and customer service excellence, delivered efficiently.
    • Responsible for business development both with new customers and with existing customers where you will be expected to increase wallet share.
    • Maintain relationship plans for all customers and drive achievement of strategic customer plans
    • Execution of sales growth strategies and targets in collaboration with the banks business partners.
    • Achieve portfolios annual financial target which will include growth in number of accounts, balance sheet, Revenue and profitability growth.
    • Management of portfolio quality while ensuring adherence SLA’s, Policies and procedures.
    • Management of portfolio at risk ensuring contained within the limits set to minimize NPL
    • Adherence to policies and procedures and ensuring up to date reporting, including adherence to SLA
    • Driving customer satisfaction (NPS Score), ensuring customer requests and complaints are attended to timely and concisely
    • Regular client visits to review business requirements, assessing assets under securities held/offered and submitting call reports
    • Cross selling the Bank’s and Group’s products
    • Conduct and submit of annual and where required interim review of customers facilities
    • Initiating the securities perfection process, obtaining necessary documents, initially vetting the documents, and following through the process to ensure securities are perfected in a timely manner;
    • Regularly following up excess drawings and loan arrears and delinquent accounts under assigned portfolio, and submission of monthly reports to senior management;
    • Providing feedback to customers in reply to their requests/requirements in a timely manner;
    • Liaising with other departments and Branches to ensure customer requests are processed in good time;
    • Ensure compliance with sanctioned terms and conditions with respect to account operations and provision of all requisite documents, covenants, etc;
    • Complying with audit observations under allotted portfolio; initiating necessary action and following up with clients;
    • Educating/creating awareness to the client on new products such as Banking regulations, requirements, industry trends; and
    • Providing feedback to Senior Management on customer requirements/ market trends/product development to suit the needs of the customers.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Business, Finance or its equivalent from a recognized institution will be an added advantage; and
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a Business related field from a recognized institution

    Professional Qualifications

    • Associate of Kenya Institute of Bankers (AKIB) or its equivalent; and
    • Relevant professional membership where applicable.

    Experience

    • At least 5 years relevant experience

    Generic Competencies

    • Ability to write complex letters, comprehensive reports and to perform complex calculations.

    Assistant Company Secretary (Re-Advertised)

    Job Summary:

    The role will be  responsible for providing high-level support to the  Company Secretary and Group Executive Office in  ensuring that the Group Companies comply with the relevant laws and regulations and best practice in corporate governance.

    Job Responsibilities:

    The incumbent will report to the Company Secretary and will be responsible for:

    • Assisting the Company Secretary in ensuring governance and regulatory compliance
    • Following up with relevant stakeholders to ensure board papers required for board and committee meetings are submitted in good time.
    • Supporting in preparation and arrangement of board papers in the board portal
    • Assisting the Company Secretary in ensuring timely dissemination of Board papers
    • Obtaining appropriate and timely responses and feedback to specific agenda items and matters arising from Board and Board Committee deliberations
    • Maintaining relevant registers including conflicts of interest and training registers
    • Supporting timely preparation of regulatory reports as required
    • Administration support for the board portal.
    • Assisting the Company Secretary in organizing Directors trainings
    • Carrying out research on various governance issues as required

    • Arranging for timely payment of Directors fees/remuneration
    • Supporting governance and legal audit process and requests for information
    • Keep abreast of changes in laws on corporate governance, company laws and other relevant regulations

    COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT

    Qualification requirements

    • A University degree in Law
    • Advocate of the High Court
    • A professional certification in company secretarial

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience preferably in a large legal, secretarial firm or large organization

     Skills Requirements:

    •  Analytical skills with attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks; be self-driven
    • Working knowledge and experience of regulatory environment and key regulatory guidelines in the financial services industry with a focus on corporate governance, company secretarial and regulatory compliance. This includes CMA Code of Corporate Governance and CBK Prudential Guideline on Corporate Governance
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and confidently with stakeholders at senior levels
    • Ethics and Integrity including the ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Strength of character and personal presence to be able to influence senior management and operate effectively at senior levels
