Overall Purpose
Reporting to the County Coordinator, the Disaster Risk Reduction(DRR)Project Officer is responsible for assisting communities in planning, implementation and monitoring of key project activities in close coordination with different stakeholders and service providers. The incumbent will work closely with the project team in strengthening disaster risk reduction at county and community level through promoting a culture of disaster preparedness and strengthening systems for DRR.

PURPOSE:
This role is responsible for providing technical leadership and strategic direction in the design, implementation and evaluation of high impact/quality programmes in; Food security and alternative livelihood, Value-chain and marketing strategies of small holder agricultural produce, Environmental management and restoration and coordination of DRM programmes special projects (PVE, Operational Research, Pilots, Road safety etc). In addition, responsible for regional and county programme mapping and developing capacities to resource mobilize, lobby and advocacy for livelihoods and environmental management and restoration programs that are aligned to the KRCS strategy and the government national and county development strategies. Other duties include development and coordination of programmatic strategies for tracking, monitoring and evaluation of projects/ programmes performance against set targets in order to improve the quality and delivery of programme activities to ensure high level impact.
