    System Analyst - Mediation & BI

    Role Purpose:

    The System Analyst – CRM & Service Delivery is responsible for administering and operating the mediation and BI applications.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • System administration of Mediation and BI applications
    • Coordinate with business departments and application vendors implement product & services
    • Monitor Mediation and BI, applications ensuring that all downstream applications receive inputs. Perform data catch-up and other corrective actions in the event of faults.
    • Perform data quality and consistency checks on data in the BI, DWH applications.
    • Generate and circulate daily, weekly and monthly application QOS reports.
    • Perform root cause analysis of all reported bugs and recommend actions for permanent resolution.
    • Raise change requests with the vendors for any application configuration changes.
    • Raise tickets with vendors and ensure follow up & closure.
    • Generate on-demand Business Intelligence reports for the Business Users. Liaise with vendor to design queries and KPIs.
    • Document Mediation and BI processes and develop data flow diagrams.
    • Update the document repository with any application design changes.
    • Research and development – Recommend possible improvements to architecture. Contribute to development of Mediation & BI systems.

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field or relevant work experience.
    • At least 2-6 years’ experience in a similar position.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Programming (C#, Vb.Net, PHP)
    • Unix & Microsoft OS
    • SQL & Scripting in Oracle/MySQL/MS SQL data base

    Role Purpose:

    The System Analyst – CRM & Service Delivery is responsible for performing professional level business systems analysis and project management activities which include planning, designing, implementing and maintaining CRM & Service Delivery Applications.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    System Analysis/Programming

    • Responsible for system analysis, design, development, testing and system implementation
    • Collaborating in planning, design and deployment of any new business applications and enhancement to existing business applications.
    • Provide effective support to users on issues related to system
    • Identify any integration issues and resolve with vendors
    • Provide user training and application support service
    • Report generation for business users

    Requirements & Planning Management

    • Understand and anticipate requirements from Business Units to fulfill their requirements and help them to meet their expectations
    • Breakdown the requirements into project & set up realistic planning

    Integration management:

    • Functional design (flows, protocol, scheduling etc..) & Technical Architecture
    • Quality of service KPI definition (capacity, dimensioning, performance, statistics)
    • List of potential incidents/events and procedures
    • List of preventive maintenance tasks (purge, script running)

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field or relevant work experience.

    Operations Support System Administrator

    Role Purpose:
    The System Analyst – OSS Administrator is responsible for ensuring high availability, efficiency and effectiveness of operations and support systems (OSS).

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Installation of OSS client applications and upgrades in the users stations
    • Monitoring and optimizing performance of network tools.
    • Manage a complex environment at large scale, using configuration management to enforce policy and push changes in a controlled manner.
    • Ensuring high availability of servers and clients for network supervision
    • Backing up and restoring the databases
    • Integration of new network elements into the OSS
    • Carry out testing and faulting of NMS/EMS related issues.
    • Report and follow up on vendor problem resolution to ensure compliance to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and contracts.

    Academic Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field or relevant work experience.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.

    Business Intelligence Manager-Mobile Financial Services

    Role Purpose:

    This position is responsible for all reporting to the Telkom Kenya MFS Management and Finance, including but not limited to reporting on MFS operational performance, investment plans, key performance areas and various other areas as required by the Telkom Kenya. The role will also include the planning of the key MFS commercial strategies and the measurement of it against pre-defined criteria on a monthly and weekly basis. Responsible for information delivery across all business units. Provision of support to business users in relation to reporting and analytics. Liaise with senior management of the business unit to prioritize throughput. Champion & demo new functionalitydatauses of our BI estate. Business requirements gathering and assessment of the impact of business changes on the data warehouse. Provision of technical training and user groups to business community.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • This role is vital in providing information analysis and support across all Business Units within MFS.
    • The analyst will be responsible for providing ad-hoc analysis and reporting to the business as required.
    • The analyst will work within the MFS department. The analyst will support daily reporting suites and ensure sufficient quality checks in place to detect or resolve issues with input data.
    • The analyst will be responsible for implementing solutions for business unit reporting needs using BI query tools.
    • The analyst will have the relevant knowledge to input into specifications and analysis of development designs as well as strong focus on adherence to standards / methodologies.
    • The analyst is responsible for communicating both information analysis and designs to a non-technical audience.
    • Assess business decisions and the impact on the business
    • Report and query outputs, using BI tools
    • Dashboard and Visual insights development
    • Business User requirements gathering, support and education
    • Project status reports
    • Training user base

    Academic/ Professional Qualifications

    • Technical Degree or in other relevant field (or equivalent).
    • 3-5 years relevant experience in a role within a business environment, having being exposed to all disciplines. Business experience preferred over pure technical experience.
    • Mobile money experience is a distinct advantage.
    • English & Swahili (fluent)

    Professional Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of BI reporting tools with SQL experience
    • Exceptional report writing skills
    • High level of problem solving skills
    • High level of competency in Microsoft office applications
    • High level of commercial sense – able to develop and assess financial impact through assuming and forecasting projections
    • Project Management – experience with co-ordination of project teams achieving deadlines
    • Partner Management – delivery of results through partners and SLA’s
    • Customer focused – passionate about delivery of results to internal and external customers
    • Strategically Oriented – solid understanding of the integrated set of products and services included within the MFS portfolio; able to identify opportunities and define and implement these opportunities into reality
    • Strong Analytical skills – able to assess reports, identify issues, root cause, and recommend solutions, expert spread sheet skills a distinct advantage.
    • Financial Management – develop and manage budgets, drive down costs wherever possible.
    • Enthusiastic and energetic – develop and maintain great working environment
    • Presentation and communication skills – superior, both written and oral. Experience in report writing an advantage, expert word processor and PowerPoint skills a distinct advantage
