    Senior Risk and Control Officer

    We are seeking to recruit a Senior Risk & Compliance Officer who will be reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, based at our Head Office.

    The ideal candidate should be an individual with basic understanding of ERPS, good understanding of risk management and controls, someone who understands government policies related to risk and is computer literate. 

    The job holder will be responsible in ensuring an effective compliance and Enterprise Management Framework is developed and implemented in all divisions.

    Main Responsibilities of the job

    Managerial Responsibilities

    1. Take responsibility for the company control work program
    2. Create awareness on Risk Management to ensure the operations across all divisions are managed from an informed point
    3. Ensure full adherence to PACI controls across all business units
    4. Act as the company Data Protection officer
    5. Take charge for development and implementation of the Company Corporate Compliance Framework and the ERM framework

    Operational Responsibilities

    1. Maintain a domestic and international legal and regulatory compliance register and heat maps to identify any compliance gaps for the organization.
    2. Review all contracts and SLAs before being signed by the company to ensure any compliance risks are identified and managed.
    3. Conduct contract and SLAs compliance testing especially for high value & sensitive contracts and SLAs
    4. Review the existence of documents and processes at branches and divisions to ensure non-compliant departments and divisions are identified and supported in the development and implementation of appropriate documents and processes.
    5. Routine internal control reviews and reporting of headquarters, branches and dealers based on the risk assessment, annual plan and PACI controls.
    6. Champion the update of internal control documentation, walkthrough and test controls required to meet the annual attestation.
    7. Participate in stock counts (parts, vehicles) and review reports from the exercises to identify and address potential risk exposures.
    8. Prepare risk reports for management to ensure management is well informed of progress as well as challenges in risk management
    9. Track the progress of remediation of control weaknesses identified by CFAO Internal Audit, self-testing, or controls assessment

    To perform effectively in the role below are the minimum level of;

    Academic/Professional qualification

    • Bachelor of Commerce degree or related field
    • CPA K/ACCA
    • Postgraduate qualification in Risk and Compliance will be an added advantage

    Experience to perform effectively

    At least 8 years of risk management / audit experience with a minimum of 3 years in supervisory position in an organisation of similar size and complexity.

    Risk & Controls Officer

    We are seeking to recruit a Risk & Compliance Officer who will be reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, based at our Head Office.

    The ideal candidate should be an individual with basic understanding of ERPS, good understanding of risk management and controls, someone who understands government policies related to risk and is computer literate.

    The job holder will be responsible for ensuring internal controls are effective and up to date and risk assessments is done for all business units. The job holder is also expected to do routine systems and transactional audits.

    Main Responsibilities of the job

    1. Assist the manager in implementation of the automotive ERM framework
    2. Ensure updated risk registers and risk heat maps exist for all business functions
    3. Conduct risk assessment for business processes, strategic initiatives, business activities
    4. Development and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs) that are mapped to various risks to determine elevations in risk and proactively implement risk mitigation measures
    5. Identify emerging risks. These includes risks associated with new products and services, customer types, locations, and channels
    6. Advice on appropriate controls to mitigate against risks identified
    7. Conduct routine internal control reviews and reporting of headquarters, branches and dealers based on the risk assessment, annual plan and PACI controls
    8. Test the strength of controls especially for high-risk areas.
    9. Maintain an inventory of controls and map them to key risk areas
    10. Update of internal control documentation, walkthrough and test controls required to meet the annual attestation
    11. Conduct continuous systems analysis of transactions, data and activities for any red flags and identifying any trends that could be an indicator of potential fraud or internal controls override
    12. Track the progress of remediation of control weaknesses identified by CFAO Internal Audit, self-testing, or controls assessment.
    13. Ensure implementation of automotive BCP & DRP
    14. Participate in stock counts (parts, vehicles) and review reports from the exercises to identify and address potential risk exposures

    To perform effectively in the role below are the minimum level of;

    A. Academic and professional qualification

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or any related field
    2. CPA K /ACCA
    3. Certification in networking or information security or IT audit such as CCNA/CISSP/CISA
    4. Post graduate qualification in Risk management will be an added advantage

    Experience to perform effectively

    1. Minimum of 5 years of risk management or internal audit experience in an organisation of similar size and complexity
    2. Working experience in both systems and financial audit is required
