    Program Officer - Kwale

    Key Responsibilities / Duties/ Tasks

    • Provide professional and confidential services to survivors of GBV, grounded in the comprehensive, survivor-centred case management approach.
    • Monitor survivor’s/ client information through accurate data entry through Commcare system and ensure confidential and safe storage.
    • Support the maintenance of SHOFCO’s case management system by maintaining client confidentiality and adherence to Case management protocol.
    • Participate in the development of case management monitoring systems and help to ensure that senior caseworkers utilize these systems correctly and consistently.
    • Supervise and provide training, mentorship, and other technical support to senior caseworkers.
    • Provide leadership and guidance regarding psychosocial and outreach activities to all senior caseworkers to ensure all programme activities meet best practice standards.
    • Develop and implement clear project activities workplan, plan champions trainings, GBV leaders meetings, and ROC Sessions with senior caseworkers adequately and ensure quality.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including community leaders and other implementing partners.
    • Support trainings to caseworkers and other staff to ensure they develop skills on GBV that meet best practice and is able to respond to the complex needs of the situation.
    • Conduct a mapping of community resources and select key structures for training and support to drive their involvement in GBV programming in the slums.
    • Build effective referral pathways and provide linkages for quality service delivery- Legal, Police, Gender recovery Centers amongst others.
    • Develop a sound advocacy plan on community led and community based GBV /child protection Programming.
    • Strengthen and maintain networks with community leaders, women leaders, and service providers.

    Education Qualifications

    Academic Qualification:

    • Bachelor Degree in Gender studies, Law, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field

    Professional Qualification:

    • Higher diploma in counselling and/or psychology.

    Other required qualifications (unique/job specific):

    • Minimum 5 years of direct psychosocial/counselling experience with a reputable agency; experience working with survivors of violence
    • Clear understanding of gender, abuse of power, and issues surrounding violence against women
    • Experience in participatory techniques and community mobilization
