    Payroll Associate (6 Months Fixed-Term Contract)

    Job Purpose

    • Support the overall reward strategy through efficient and timely administration of staff /FA compensation, benefits, loans and mortgages and payroll management.
    • Responsible for ensuring all payroll data is correctly captured in the ERP payroll module and support staff in the registration into respective benefits schemes, e.g. Medical, Group Life, GPA, pension, ESOP, club membership, staff loans etc. Work hand in hand with FA Operations team in the implementing of all FA benefits schemes, e.g. Medical, Group Life, GPA, pension, club membership, FA loans etc.

    Key responsibilities:

    • HR Services
    • Become the first point of contact on general compensation and benefit queries and provide advice to Talent, Employee Relations, HRBP’S queries and employees regarding reward matters as well as compensation matters relating to commissions, overrides, Bonuses and other FA related benefits.
    • Support the Senior Total Reward Analyst in collating and capturing accurate inputs, deductions/calculations i.e. change relating to staff and FA for timely monthly payroll processing
    • Support in accurate & timely preparation of the monthly payment for statutory bodies and third parties (NSSF, SHIF,AHL, Union Dues, PAYE, SACCO payments, Pension, HELB, etc) and ensure timely submission to relevant bodies.
    • Support the administration of all staff and financial advisors’ loans and mortgages benefits schemes as per policies and procedure manual as well as Highlight and escalate cases of loan defaults and follow up with the respective loanees to ensure a good performance of the loan book portfolio.
    • Ensuring compliance certificates are always up-to-date for various government bodies such as NITA, NSSF, NHIF etc. 
    • Month-to- month (YTD) Payroll cost analysis for Britam Group.
    • Month -to- month (YTD) Staff loan uptake.
    • Preparation and compilation of FA remuneration reports. This includes among other reports such as commission production trends, Overrides and Bonus reports etc. 
    • Assist in the preparation of Reward & Payroll - Service Level Agreements with the different stakeholders with Reward Section.
    • Ensure all monthly payroll records, staff loan documents are fully signed off and stored in a safe place for future reference.
    • Implement timely legal notices that affect the payroll and benefits administration such as changes in tax matters or any other notice.
    • Aid the various stakeholders in major assignments such us internal and external Audit.
    • Delegated authority: as per the approved delegated authority matrix.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
    • CPA Section 1. 
    • 1-2 years’ experience in payroll management
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Able to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
    • Attention to detail, organized, and has the ability to prioritize skills.
    • Skills in database management and analytics.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a high volume of requests in an effective and timely manner.
    • Proficiency in advanced excel.

    Principle Legal Associate

    • The purpose of this role is to assist the Legal Manager in the provision of legal support to the P&D and EMC segments and the effective management of litigation and contractual risks.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Provide Legal Advisory on requested/assigned matters through the provision of Legal Opinions, 
    • Presentations and participation in internal/external meetings.
    • Provide pro-active and/or strategic legal solutions to business problems.
    • Keep abreast on upcoming laws and regulations and advise the business on implications thereof.
    • Conduct legal research and investigation, develop oral and written advice and present recommendations. 
    • Adhere to and Update the Legal Process Manuals.
    • Draft, Negotiate and Review contracts or any other documentation assigned and assess legal implications that need to be brought to the executive management’s attention.
    • Manage external Advocates handling active briefs through pro-active correspondence.
    • Instruct Advocates to take up matters on behalf of the Company. 
    • Review advocates legal costs to ensure that the same are within the Advocates Remuneration Order 2014 as well as attempt other cost saving measures. 
    • Prepare and submit status reports within reporting timelines.
    • Effective Management of disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, case management, review of pleadings, preparation of witnesses and attendance of court hearings.  
    • Manage Legal documents and records and facilitate execution of legal documents in line with the Contract Management Policy. 
    • Facilitate and participate in training programmes initiated by the Legal Department. 
    • Attend and Participate in Departmental and Segment meetings.
    • Assist in taking minutes as requested from time to time.
    • Delegated Authority. As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:

    • Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from a recognized University.
    • Post graduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law.
    • An advocate of the High Court of Kenya holding a valid practicing certificate with at least 4 years post admission experience.
    • At least 5-7 years relevant experience in the commercial department of a busy law firm or legal corporate environment.

    Intern, Investment Analyst

    • The Investment Analyst Intern is responsible for conducting in-depth market research and financial analysis to assess the viability and potential of new ventures.     Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

    • University Degre in Actuarial, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field  from an accredited institution
    • Prior internship experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or  a related analytical role.
    • Familiarity with financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, Capital IQ).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or business intelligence software.
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
