Job Description

Flower Delivery and Handling

• Deliver flowers to assigned stalls promptly and in accordance with the daily delivery schedule.
• Handle flowers carefully during loading, transportation, unloading, and delivery to prevent damage, bruising, or deterioration in quality.
• Ensure flowers are properly arranged, secured, and transported under suitable conditions to maintain their freshness and quality.
• Verify the quantities and condition of flowers before dispatch and upon delivery, reporting any discrepancies, damage, or shortages to the supervisor.
• Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with personnel and other customers encountered during deliveries.

Delivery Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate and complete daily delivery records, including delivery notes, quantities delivered, destinations, and acknowledgements of receipt.
• Ensure all required delivery documentation is completed, signed where applicable, and submitted to the designated supervisor within the stipulated timelines.
• Report any delivery delays, customer complaints, discrepancies, accidents, or other incidents promptly.

Vehicle Maintenance and Care

• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle, both internally and externally.
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, including: Engine oil levels, Tyre pressure and tyre condition, Fuel levels, Lights, indicators, brakes, and other essential vehicle components, General cleanliness and roadworthiness etc.
• Report mechanical defects, unusual noises, warning lights, or any other vehicle issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Ensure the vehicle is serviced and maintained in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule.
• Keep the vehicle's required documents and equipment in order and report any missing or expired documents.
• Use the assigned vehicle responsibly and strictly for authorized duties.

  Road Safety and Legal Compliance

• Observe all applicable traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
• Drive carefully and responsibly, prioritizing the safety of pedestrians, other road users, the flowers, and the assigned vehicle.
• Ensure the vehicle is operated only by authorized persons and that all required driving documents are valid.
• Report all accidents, traffic incidents, vehicle damage, and traffic-related penalties to the supervisor immediately.
• Avoid reckless driving, unauthorized vehicle use, and any conduct that may compromise road safety or the company's reputation.

Customer Service, Integrity, and Personal Hygiene

• Maintain a high standard of customer care and professionalism when delivering flowers and interacting with customers.
• Communicate politely, respectfully, and promptly with customers and the supervisor regarding deliveries.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and present a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
• Adhere to the company's code of conduct, operational procedures, and customer service standards.
• Safeguard confidential company and customer information obtained in the course of duty.

Other Duties

• Perform any other reasonable duties related to the role as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Requirements

• A valid driving licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
• A minimum of a KCSE certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Previous experience in delivery driving, preferably in the transport, fresh produce, flower, or retail distribution sector, is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of traffic rules, road safety, and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete delivery documentation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated honesty, reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Good customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Physically fit to perform duties involving the handling, loading, and unloading of flowers, where required.
