    Financial Crime Risk Control Manager

    Role overview:

    The role supports Financial Crime Intelligence, Investigations & Analytics by leveraging expertise in data interpretation, visualization, and statistical analysis to turn data into actionable insights. It will support finetuning of CFCC systems, cross-jurisdictional special investigations, and operational and strategic intelligence through the analysis of data. Finally, the role shall support the Group’s risk culture and profile by contributing data for financial crime related  staff awareness and thought leadership.

    Job responsibilities:

    • Collect, clean and analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends related to financial crime.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using visualization technologies such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, or similar tools to monitor key performance indicators and detect suspicious behaviour.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide data-driven recommendations.
    • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and present findings to support decision-making processes, especially the finetuning of FC risk systems and reengineering of FC risk processes.
    • Ensure Financial Crime risk data accuracy and integrity through rigorous validation and testing.
    • Provide input to and own the design of Financial Crime Risk Update to all staff and related thought leadership materials, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders for their distribution.

    Qualifications
     Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a related field.
    • Relevant professional qualifications such as CAMS, ICA will be an advantage.
    • 5+ years of relevant professional experience

    Competencies:

    • No less than 5 years of compliance or risk management experience, with significant portion within a large international bank.
    • Strong understanding of Regulatory Compliance and requirements within the banking industry.
    • Proven experience working within Risk and in data analysis, preferably within the financial services industry or related fields.
    • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Clear communication skills to convey complex findings to stakeholders and fluency in English.

    Compliance, Financial Crime Risk Manager

    Job Purpose:

    The role holder will be tasked to support Group Financial Crime Compliance function by ensuring that the Group has an optimal, effective, efficient, and regulatory compliant financial crime risk management framework. The role will assist the Group Head of Compliance, Financial Crime and Conduct in ensuring that the Group is kept appraised of relevant changes in laws and regulations, emerging risks and potential gaps in managing and implementing international and local financial sanctions, anti money laundering, counter terrorism and proliferation financing controls.

    Key Responsibilities.

    • Act as the primary subject matter expert in sanctions, anti-money laundering, counter terrorism and proliferation financing.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant sanctions, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism and proliferation financing regulations and industry standards, implementing and maintaining the robust program.
    • Guide the enhancement of sanctions, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism and proliferation financing processes, frameworks, and investigative standards.
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders, including subsidiaries, to maintain and improve transaction monitoring systems in line with business growth and regulatory changes.
    • Act as the key escalation point for complex financial crime cases and offer expertise and resolution strategies.
    • Analyse financial crime trends and data to anticipate emerging risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve systems and processes related to sanctions, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism and proliferation financing.
    • Prepare and present Management Information (MI) reports, highlighting key trends, performance metrics, and risk insights for senior management and relevant stakeholders
    • Conduct tests and deep dives to ensure the effectiveness of the sanctions, anti-money laundering, counterterrorism and proliferation financing program.
    • Ensure up-to-date comprehensive Compliance matrix/grids, based on all the relevant legislations/regulations, to ensure that the Group and its local subsidiaries comply with all the relevant legislation and regulations.
    • Assist Management with AML/CTF-related inquiries from employees, business managers, and internal and external auditors by providing information and guidance in a timely manner.
    • Draft and socialize sanctions, anti-money laundering, counterterrorism and proliferation financing policies and standards.
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure a robust and effective training program.
    • Complete employee and performance reviews with the team
    • Managing the team by overseeing their performance and ensuring they work within regulation.

    Qualifications

    • First Degree. ·
    • Professional certification e.g. CAMs an added advantage.
    • AML/CFT Expertise: Extensive knowledge of sanctions, anti money laundering, counter terrorism and proliferation financing regulations, with proven experience as a subject matter expert in sanctions, anti money laundering, counter terrorism and proliferation financing frameworks and investigations
    • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading teams, particularly in a financial crime or compliance setting
    • Transactional Monitoring: Strong background in managing and optimising transactional monitoring processes and ensuring regulatory compliance
    • Financial Crime Knowledge: Understanding of broader financial crime risks, including anti-bribery and corruption, though specific subject matter expertise in fraud is not required
    • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse complex financial crime data, identify trends, and lead strategic initiatives to improve detection and prevention mechanisms
    • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to various internal and external stakeholders
    • Banking Experience: Extensive knowledge of banking operations, with proven experience dealing with banking products, services, and customer relationship management

    Head of Compliance

    Description
     
    The Head of Compliance shall support the Group Head, Compliance, Financial Crime and Conduct (CFCC) by working with other Risk and the Business leaders to manage the strategy and execution of the Group’s Compliance risk framework. The role supports the effective management of regulatory Compliance related risks in the Group and provides pro-active, accurate and timely advice to enable the group and all subsidiaries operate in accordance with regulatory requirements, global best practice and applicable Group standards. The role requires good knowledge of Compliance risk frameworks, the potential sources of compliance risk and collaboration with other leaders in the first and second lines of defense to identify, assess, monitor and address such activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the Group Head, CFCC to implement and maintain an effective Group Compliance risk framework and provide strategic direction in how compliance risks are managed.
    • Collaborate with the other stakeholders to identify, control and assess compliance risk in the Group.
    • Deliver regulatory advice to stakeholders in line with Group risk appetite and manage second line processes to ensure adequate risk reviews on new businesses, products, and systems on an ongoing basis.
    • Drive effectiveness of the Group Compliance Risk Framework by incorporating effective and practical advice into sound early-stage second line challenge.
    • Support the rollout and implementation of effective Compliance training across the Group.
    • Assist with the Group’s approach, including an effective Group Obligations register, for the timely identification of opportunities to enhance the management and oversight of Compliance risk, and ensure appropriate action is taken by relevant parties to deliver improvements.
    • Work with relevant stakeholders in the Group to ensure that the required controls to mitigate compliance risk are embedded into new products and initiatives.
    • Support the Group Head, CFCC in the development and implementation of the Group Government & Regulatory Relationship Program.
    • Implement a process that identifies and manages potential Compliance risk from regulatory and geo- political changes and provides assurance that changes have been effectively embedded into the relevant Compliance business processes.
    • Broaden internal and external networks and keep up to date with regulatory requirements and industry best practice to continuously improve the effectiveness of Group compliance risk management.
    • Develop compliance testing plans to test that sound compliance programs are in place and effective.
    • Evaluate effectiveness of available metrics and enhance or design new metrics to identify trends, patterns, or potential areas of concern.

    Critical Skills:

    • Compliance management experience, with significant portion in compliance risk within large international banks, insurance and technology companies.
    • Strong understanding of Regulatory Compliance and requirements within the banking industry.
    • Good experience in leveraging analytics and technology solutions to manage Compliance risks.
    • Critical thinking skills to understand and analyze complex problems.
    • Effective communicator with strong writing and verbal abilities to communicate across all levels of the Group.
    • Ability to develop strong relationships and collaborate with senior business and function leaders to influence change
    • Proven focus on deliverables, organized, and ability to manage multiple high priority deliverables Self-starter, highly organized, and detailed-oriented
    • Strategic and critical thinking and the ability to concisely convey complex regulatory concepts and possible solution sets.
    • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
    • Exercise high level of discretion and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the scope of work · Extremely detail oriented with ability to elevate details into strategies.
    • Proven record in conducting compliance testing.

    Qualifications
    Requirements: Qualification and Skill

    • Degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field
    • Professional Certification such as CAMS, ICA.
    • Requires 12+ years of professional experience and 5+ years of management experience.
