    Digital Forensic Investigations Intern

    JOB PURPOSE

     

    Under the direct supervision of the Forensics Investigations Officer, the intern will be provided with close mentoring, guidance and technical supervision. Performance planning and reviews as well as learning and development discussions will be elemental part of the supervision. 

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in the university and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies; or have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme within the last 6 months, preferably in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Forensics Science or related fields.or
    • Currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s degree) from a recognized university, undertaking the programmes mentioned above, and have attended classes in the past 12 months,
    • Fluent in English (both oral and written) is a must; knowledge of a second UN language, preferably French, would be an asset.

    • Perform comprehensive technical analysis and interpret computer-related evidence such as e-mail, various databases, and information stored on electronic devices using forensic tools and methods
    • Manage the chain of custody process for forensic evidence, as well as evidence acquisition and analysis for the NBO office
    • Carry on the implementation of e-Discovery, computer forensic investigations, and related services for large data sets
    • Write scripts where required to automate technical processes
    • Execute designed projects on SQL databases interpretation and evidence carving
    • Collect pertinent information related to Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) cases utilizing WFP corporate database, including SAP, and available public databases
    • Maintain Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) forensic systems and equipment by carrying out regular tasks, such as: backing up data, monitoring network and systems, and peripherals, running systems diagnostics, systems updates, patch management and systems optimization, replenishment of consumables, etc.
    • Act as the IT focal point for the Nairobi Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) investigation team
    • Carry out any other duty as instructed by the Forensics Investigations Officer/or the Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) management.

    Innovation Learning & Impact Intern

    JOB PURPOSE

    With a growing innovation portfolio, the RBN Innovation Hub is looking for an innovation learning and impact intern to support with the impact measurement and learning knowledge sharing activity for the Hub. Reporting to either the IGNITE Innovation Hub Food Systems Advisor or Learning and Impact Advisor to be recruited, the intern will work with relevant functional units in the Regional Bureau, HQ and Country Offices as well as stakeholders and partners in the global and regional innovation ecosystem to support the capture and sharing of learning and impact measurement.

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in the university and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies; or have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme within the last 6 months, preferably in International Development, Business, Innovation, Environmental Science, Learning and Development or any other relevant field or

    Develop a shared innovation toolkit of resources for the IGNITE Innovation Hub and Country Offices;

    • Review the best of the innovation toolkit materials available to WFP and CARE and develop a shared innovation toolkit for use by innovation practitioners in the IGNITE Innovation Hub and the WFP and CARE Country Offices
    • Using human centered design approaches, support with the development of an approach (including workshops, surveys etc) to capture learnings from the field, and sharing learnings across the projects and programmes in the innovation portfolio
    • In collaboration with HQ and implementing partner, support with the development of a standardized set of indicators to enable the overarching measurement of impact of the Hub activities, at both the individual and collective level, aligned with the Theory of Change

    Support with impact measurement, knowledge management and reporting ongoing activities:

    • Support with sharing and analysing timely surveys and after-action reviews and assess feedback to gain actionable qualitative insights into what is working / what could be improved across the Hub’s programming –
    • Identify and collect stories and major communication moments that showcase the impact of the Hub’s work in strengthening food systems across the region to be sustainable
    • Support donor project reporting requirements and information management between donors, internal stakeholders and project leads related to learning and impact measurement

    Support other innovation partnerships and events needs as required:

    Global Fleet Intern

    JOB PURPOSE

    WFP operates over 1,000 heavy commercial trucks of different configurations, trailers and workshop facilities throughout 28 Country Offices (COs). Most of these trucks are based in the RBN region. The Logistics Global Fleet currently have the following 3 active support projects that require additional temporary resource: 

    • Fleet Leasing, 
    • Fleet Waste Recycling  
    • Bulk Fuel Management

    Working under the direct supervision of the Fleet Consultant leading these Projects, the intern will be provided with close mentoring, guidance and technical supervision. Additional support will be provided by the GF Projects Manager based in Rome.

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in the university and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies; or have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme within the last 6 months, preferably in Transport, Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering or related fields. or

    Enterprise Risk Management Intern

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Enterprise Risk Management Unit within the WFP Regional Bureau for East Africa requires support in coordination of risk management initiatives in the region. The intern will support in the organization and planning of risk assessments and reports.

    Occupational Safety and Health Intern

    Reporting to the Regional Administration Officer, the Intern OSH Administration will help the Administration Team to do a risk assessment on the RBN office space and identify areas where improvements can be made. This service will be extended to those COs where they may need assistance with Risk Assesments

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled with at least two years undergraduate studies completed, or recently graduated (within the past six months) (Data science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field) or,

    Environmental Management Intern

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Environmental Unit within the RBN Administration Unit helps Country Offices mainstream environmental management across WFP operations, through the implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Current focus areas include reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, minimizing and properly managing waste, reducing water consumption, promoting sustainable procurement decisions, and increasing staff awareness around environmental management.

    Legal Intern

    JOB PURPOSE

    The internship offers law students and recent law graduates an excellent opportunity to work on and develop their knowledge of the whole range of legal matters that arise in the context of the operations of one of the largest UN organisations in the East Africa region.

    The intern will support the Regional Legal Advisor in the performance of all legal functions and will support RBN (Regional Bureau Nairobi) in the delivery of timely and accurate legal guidance to country offices and RBN (Regional Bureau)  units.

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Currently enrolled in, or about to begin, the final year of an undergraduate law programme (first degree); be currently enrolled in a graduate law programme (second degree, e.g., master’s or JD); or have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate law programme within six months of the deadline for applications.     Communications Advocacy and Marketing Intern

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Candidate must be a recent graduate (within the last 6 months) or actively pursuing an undergraduate degree of which he/she has competed 2 years of undergraduate study OR pursuing a graduate programme in English, Literature, Social Studies or related field.

    • For the above, conduct desk research of materials, including the materials produced by WFP and other relevant organizations, in consultation with substantive units and relevant staff in the RBN.
    • Edit and proof-read written documents for external audiences prepared by the programme teams, including checking spelling, acronyms and other abbreviations, etc. The drafting and editing work may require some additional research and coordination with relevant staff.

    Technology Intern

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
