    General Manager, Talent Management & Administration

    The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The Group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, DRC and Zimbabwe. The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position of GM Talent Management & Administration.

    The position holder will report to the Managing Director, Kenya, and to the Group CEO on Group activities. The General Manager Talent Management & Administration will:

    1. Develop corporate plans for the HR function and consolidate cross functional HR requirements for implementation across the company.
    2. Create a HR center of excellence for the group and roll out initiatives across the group such as 'best in class' HR practices, compliance, compensation, benefits, health, and safety etc.
    3. Taking primary responsibility to oversee the human factor in the company by devising and implementing strategies for recruitment, skill gap analysis and mapping, capacity building, induction and orientation, liaison and coordination with Industry and Government procedures & compliance, Annual appraisals, HR survey, HR Policy development & Manuals, Employee empowerment, engagement, retention, disciplinary issues, conflict resolution and separation.
    4. Be responsible to provide directions, guidance and support to a team consisting of Senior HR Manager, Deputy HR Manager, Knowledge Manager, and their teams.
    5. Prepare reports and participate in weekly and monthly executive meetings, and quarterly Board meetings, while providing overall direction to the Company Talent Management and Administration function.

    The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

    • Graduate in Human Resource Management with minimum Upper Second-Class Degree from a recognised institution.
    • Masters degree in relevant discipline.
    • Minimum 10 years' industry experience, five of which are at General Manger HR level.
    • Hands-on experience with HRM Software (including payroll systems and Applicant Tracing Systems).
    • Excellent Leadership, communication, and presentation skills with attention to detail and ability to foster healthy employee relations.
    • Solid understanding of labour laws.
    • Current membership and possession of valid practicing license of respective Professional Institution (IHRM).
    • Computer skills including MS Office suite and HRMIS.

    Water Treatment Engineer

    The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position of Water Treatment Engineer, reporting to the Group Water Treatment Manager.

    The principal job tasks shall be: -

    • Designing and selling complete range water & wastewater treatment products and solutions to customers and prospects.
    • Participate in water and wastewater treatment project deployments, supervision, monitoring, inspection, and de-snagging.
    • Preparation of tenders, quotations, presenting to clients and converting to orders.
    • Carrying out technical service visits and provide technical support as required within the region.

    The successful candidate will have the following attributes: -

    • Upper Second Class Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from a recognised institution.
    • 2 - 4 years' experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment Projects with minimum Upper Second-Class Hons Degree.
    • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficient computer skills including MS Office packages.
    • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
    • A good team player.
    • Project management skills including ability to organize, schedule, prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment.

    Chemical Sales Engineer

    The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, DRC, South Sudan and Zimbabwe. The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position of Chemical Sales Engineer, reporting to the Group Chemical Segment Manager.

    The principal job tasks shall be: -

    • Designing and selling complete range of water and wastewater treatment chemicals solutions to customers and prospects.
    • Develop and maintain close working relationships with key customers/consultants.
    • Prepare tenders, sales quotations, and expressions of interest for water and wastewater treatment chemicals.
    • Carrying out technical service visits and provide technical support as requirewithin the region.
    • Evaluate and develop new technology, products, and innovative solutions.

    The successful candidate will have the following attributes: -

    • Upper Second Class Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Industrial Chemistry from a recognised institution
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in design, selling and servicing of water treatment and wastewater chemicals and solutions.
    • Proven sales track record and desire to succeed in a sales environment.
    • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to develop and manage professional networks with prospects and clients.
    • Proficient computer skills including MS Office packages.
    • Project management skills including ability to organize, schedule, prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
