    Head of People

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

     

    The Head of People and Smiles works with the company’s senior leaders to make our motto “create a new, smiley world” come alive in our teams. You will have a passion to understand deeply what moves people to strive for infinity. You will work on creating a seamless and happy journey for the Moko-ers from start to finish: from hiring and onboarding to growth coaching and training to help every Moko-er become the hero they wish to become. This role is ideal for a leader who is able to design and implement policies that can make abstract values alive and tangible across big teams. You will also be a strategic person who has a clear vision of how the People team can be effective to support the rapid growth of our organization.

    THE ROLE IN BRIEF

    Support the CEO in the implementation of the Moko INSPIRE principles across the company

    • Translate the INSPIRE (Infinity, No-NonSense, Supportive, Passion, Initiative. Real, Enthusiasm) culture principles into concrete practices and rituals so that they become simple enough to be acted upon by everyone
    • Ideate, implement and run surveys or other data collection systems to keep a pulse of teams’ engagement and culture implementation
    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to draw insights to share with teams’ heads. Define key strategic initiatives to drive up our “Smiles Score” i.e. our engagement and happiness staff score.

    Lead the hiring and onboarding of new Moko-ers as we scale to infinity

    • Support each team’s Head to define clear job descriptions and hiring needs at the beginning of each quarter to be able to always be a step-ahead our growth
    • Coordinate with the Brand Team to share with the world the Moko experience in a clear, compelling and smiley way
    • Manage a team that can find the right candidates and offer a wow experience throughout the interview process
    • Design, implement and optimize for scale an onboarding process that conveys our culture and philosophy. Leverage the onboarding process to help every new Moko-er to find their passion and understand how they can make an impact.

    Lead the development and implementation of professional growth and training opportunities

    • Lead the design and implementation of different chapters of Moko Infinity Academy – a training program for each Moko-er to grow their skill-set.
    • Work with the Chief of Staff team to iterate on a performance management system that is clear and fair for all the teams in the company.
    • Support teams’ Heads to run performance reviews and coaching sessions with the right frequency and following best practices so that every Moko-er in every team feels they are on the growth path they wish to be
    • Ensure that every Moko-er at any time is able to define and know what success looks like every day for them

    • Optimize HR practices and systems that can work efficiently as we scale
    • Make strategic decisions about a benefits package that is financially sustainable and in line with our culture principles

    Marketing Manager

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    Moko’s goal is to change the way people experience their everyday home. We have an ambitious development pipeline that spans mattresses to sofas with the goal of making our customers’ dream of leading a modern lifestyle a reality. We’re looking to add a Marketing Manager (aka Chief Fuss Maker) who will be responsible for lead Moko’s marketing strategy and activities. You’ll be an excellent project manager who is able to juggle a variety of tasks under tight timelines. You’ll put into use your knowledge of marketing strategy to create remarkable communications and content for current and future Moko fans. Finally, you’ll be excellent people manager, who can motivate and grow the team.

    THE ROLE IN BRIEF

    Own and implement the marketing strategy for Moko

    • Manage the team to create and distribute content that is remarkable, and leads to both sales and brand love
    • Continuously improve our channel strategy, making sure we are always finding new and effective ways to reach our customers, including both digital and traditional channels
    • Conduct research and analysis of customer behaviour to inform our content and channel strategies

    Measure and achieve key targets

    • Set, cascade, and continuously review key results for the team, with a focus on targets of reach (aka ‘All eyes on moko’), engagement (aka ‘Moko-love’), and leads
    • Analyse performance of marketing activities against targets, and identify drivers of each activity’s ability to meet the targets
    • Set and manage the budget for all marketing activities, including digital advertising, offline advertising, and content production

    Lead and grow a motivated team

    • Provide 1-on-1 coaching for all direct reports to keep them inspired
    • Manage daily and weekly activities of the team to create a high-performing team where key results are always met
    • Plan for the teams capacity needs and hire additional teammates as needed

    Manage internal and external stakeholders

    • Identify and manage outsourced providers to help us achieve our goals, e.g. graphic designers, media stations, etc.
    • Build and sustain relationships with peers from other Moko teams to ensure smooth collaboration
    • Sustain relationships with Moko’s marketing advisors to help us continuously iterate our market strategy

    Head of Operations & Supply Chain

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    Moko’s Head of Operations & Supply Chain is responsible for scaling our supply chain and distribution to reach millions of customers. We’re looking for a self-driven and analytical leader with the ability to direct and grow our operations team and systems toward this goal. You’ll be excited to solve big problems like building out a local network of contract manufactured furniture suppliers and delivering smiles to thousands of customers each month. You’ll be obsessed with order and efficiency, creating, and improving systems to organize and streamline the work of your team as it expands.

    • Run one of the most efficient delivery operations East Africa has ever seen – operating within cost per unit volume and cost per product targets.

    • Ensure strong systems and SOPs are in place for all inventory movements – every warehouse passes regular stock audits with flying colours.

    Depot Sales Assistant

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    We are looking to add a customer-oriented and analytical Depot Sales Assistant to our Customer Engagement team, who will be able to provide high class customer service to our clients and build long-term relationships with them. You’ll be motivated by building relationships with a portfolio of long-term customers.     Customer Care Officer

    The Role In Brief

    Responsibilities

    Customer care and support

    • Make outbound calls to customer to arrange home deliveries
    • Coordinate with the delivery team to manage home deliveries to customers
    • Ensure that payments are collected and logged in our system
    • Assist customers in case of queries such as replacement of the product or assistance with product guarantee
    • Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times
    • Maintain communication with customers through various channels i.e. WhatsApp, Phone calls, Messages
    • Communicating and coordinating with colleagues as necessary

    Lead Nurturing

    • Follow up on leads to nurture positive relationships with them and help them place leads
    • Keep an up to date record of leads and customers generated from activation events and keep a record of customer transactions, interactions, comments and complaints.
    • Propose new ideas about ways to engage our customers online and offline with our brand and suggest improvements about customer engagement system.

    Administrative Assistant

From supporting hiring of new team members to ensuring smooth people operations, Administrative Assistants run the processes that drive our day to day business. You’ll work closely with members of our management team, making this a great development opportunity for anyone early in their administration, HR or accounting career.

    THE ROLE IN BRIEF

     Administrative Assistants can take on a wide range of responsibilities, we tailor responsibilities to a team member’s specific skills. For this specific position, we’re looking for someone with training and/or experience in HR and accounting, and their main responsibilities will be:

    Find and support talent

    • Support the production team in hiring of casuals
    • Support the talent team in sending out correspondence for new/prospective hires
    • Support managers in sending out correspondence related to disciplinary action 
    • Act as the finance liaison on matters relating to the production team’s employment issues. This would involve receiving and auditing the working hours submitted on a weekly basis, calculating overtime, allowances, deductions and forwarding these to payroll processing
    • Handle queries relating to pay calculations arising from the production and operations teams

    Lay the foundation of accurate and updated databases

    • Filing of statutory returns and follow up to ensure these are updated in each statutory body’s respective database
    • Keeping the team database updated
    • Ensuring accurate data entry relating to working hours in the production team
    • Computing leave balances for all employees
    • Any other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor
