    Manager, Corporate Planning and Strategy

    JOB GRADE MNS 8-MNS/HR/13/2021 

    Job Descriptions

    The Manager, Corporate Planning and Strategy will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the overall management and administration of corporate planning and strategy matters.

    Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:

    • Formulating, implementing and reviewing Corporate Planning policies, systems procedures, standards and guidelines,
    • Overseeing development, implementation and monitoring of society’s corporate strategic plan and service charter;
    • Overseeing development and implementation of quality management systems;
    • Spearheading performance contracting process;
    • Monitoring and evaluating Society’s performance;
    • Advising management on development and implementation of strategic policy areas such as revenue generation and cost saving;
    • Overseeing the alignment of corporate strategy with the society’s overall goals and objectives;
    • Overseeing the integration of various business projects implementation in line with the strategic plan;
    • Evaluating and monitoring the society’s business projects;
    • Aligning corporate strategy with the society’s objective and goals; and
    • Carrying out economic analysis and feasibility studies to determine financial implication and viability of the society’s business projects and activities;
    • Ensuring that the Board’s development agenda is restricted to planned projects and activities;
    • Analyzing emerging trends affecting the society’s mandate and resource requirements; and
    • Overseeing preparation of work plans and budget.

    Job Specifications

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

    1. Served in the grade of Assistant Manager corporate planning for a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable position in the public or private sector for a minimum period of nine (9) years, three (3) of which must be at a middle management level;
    2. Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Applied Mathematics, Economics and Finance or Economics and Statistics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    3. Masters degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Applied Mathematics, Economics and Finance, Economics and Statistics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    4. Certificate in Corporate Governance from a recognized institution;
    5. Be proficient in computer applications; and
    6. Demonstrated professional and managerial competence in corporate planning work as reflected in work performance and results.

    Assistant Manager, Corporate Communication Services

    JOB GRADE MNS 7-MNS/HR/14/2021 (1 POST)

    Job Description

    The Manager, Corporate Communications Services will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the overall management and administration of the Section.

    Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

    1. Developing and implementing corporate communications strategy, policies and programmes;
    2. Creating and enhancing MNS image;
    3. Publicizing the organization’s activities;
    4. Advising the Management on communication matters, solutions and best practices;
    5. Editing and production of the organization’s newsletters, magazines and brochures;
    6. Managing Media Information Service;
    7. Coordinating logistics relating to press conferences, official functions, visits, seminars, workshops, public relations exhibitions and other organizational social events;
    8. Preparing speeches, briefs, press supplements, press statements, news releases and feature articles;
    9. Liaising with key stakeholders on matters of concern to MNS;
    10. Monitoring MNS customer service levels;
    11. Liaising with media houses for coverage of the organization’s events and raising public awareness of MNS functions and activities;
    12. Providing critical analysis of news (press review) regarding the organization;
    13. Managing matters of corporate interest and corporate social responsibility programs;
    14. Resolving media queries and complaints;
    15. Coordinating preparation of the sectional annual budget and work plans;
    16. Coordinating preparation of the sectional annual performance reports;
    17. Managing the individual and sectional performance targets; and
    18. Overseeing the training, development and performance of staff in the section.

    Job Specifications

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-

    • Have served in the grade of Senior Corporate Communication Officer, for a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable position in the public or private organization for a minimum period of six (6) years three (3) of which must be at a middle management level;
    • Have Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: Mass Communications, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Have Masters Degree in any of the following disciplines: Mass Communications, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Be registered with a relevant professional body;
    • Have Certificate in Senior Management Course from a recognized institution;
    • Be proficient in computer applications; and
    • Have demonstrated high degree of professional competence, administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of corporate communications services.

    Manager, Records Management Services

    GRADE 8- MNS/HR/11/2021 (1 POST)

    Job Description

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-

    • Developing, reviewing and implementing the records management policies, manuals, procedures, guidelines, strategies and standards in line with the overall corporate plan;
    • Ensuring safe custody of Society’s members records;
    • Ensuring effective and efficient management of the Registry operations;
    • Initiating appraisal and disposal of files/documents
    • Ensuring proper coding of member files for easy retrieval;
    • Ensuring proper and accurate maintenance of members records;
    • Managing incoming and outgoing mails and cheques;
    • Ensuring members’ queries are handled and resolved in the shortest time possible;
    • Devising appropriate systems to ensure proper control in the movement of files;
    • Establishing and maintaining records management systems;
    • Identifying and communicating potential risks to records;
    • Facilitating automation of records management system; and
    • Ensuring security of information, documents, files and equipment.
    • Overseeing implementation of ISO and Quality Management Systems in the Section;
    • Coordinating preparation of the sectional annual budget and work plans;
    • Coordinating preparation of sectional monthly performance reports;
    • Managing the Individual and sectional performance targets; and
    • Overseeing the training, development and performance of staff in the Section.


    Job Specifications

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-

    1. Have served in the grade of Asst. Records Manager for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    2. Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Information Science; Records Management and Information Technology; Archives and Records Management or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    3. Have a Masters in any of the following disciplines:- Information Science; Records Management and Information Technology; Archives and Records Management; Information Science; Computer Science; Information Systems; or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    4. Have a Certificate in Senior Management Course from a recognized institution;
    5. Be a Member to a relevant professional body;
    6. Be Proficient in computer applications skills; and
    7. Have demonstrated high degree of professional competence, administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of Records Management services.
