    Principal Internal Auditor

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Internal Audit division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Posting Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager; Commercial Process Audit and Audit Operations, the position will be responsible for leading audit assignments, driving improvement of the business control environment and leading risk assessments for proactive identification, assurance and advisory.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Plan and execute audit assignments as per the approved audit plan.
    • Lead audit assignments and provide supervisory guidance to teams assigned to specific audit assignments.
    • Manage assignment level quality requirements in all audit work in conformance to Internal policies, standards (IPPF) and procedures for consistent quality audit results.
    • Provide advisory support management on designing, implementing and enhancing business controls.
    • Provide independent assurance in strategic projects and proactively recommend controls to mitigate risks.
    • Follow up audit recommendations and validate the implementation of the closure actions.
    • Provide support to Risk Management processes to ensure that business key risks are adequately assessed, mitigated and the assurance map appropriately updated.
    • Provide timely and relevant reports on audit outcomes to support management and the Board on risk assurance and mitigation decisions. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Upper second class degree in a Technical or Business field from a recognized University
    • Fully qualified accountant - CPA (K) or ACCA.
    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification will be an added advantage.
    • 6-8 years working experience in internal and/or external audit.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management.
    • Proven ability to lead audits and manage an audit team.
    • Excellent reporting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Proven ability to self-start and effectively manage multiple assignments.
    • Experience in the use of data analysis tools such as IDEA, ACL.
    • High level knowledge of MS Office applications.

    Principal Information Systems Auditor (Network Assurance)

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Internal Audit division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Posting Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager; Network and M-PESA Audits, the position holder will be responsible for leading, planning, executing and documenting audits and advisory assignments in the Network Domain in accordance with the internal audit plan.  The scope of systems in the network domain shall include voice and data core network systems, radio access systems, Value-Added Services (VAS), Data Centers, transmission technologies, Fibre (FTTX) and enterprise connectivity solutions.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Participation in the overall development and delivery of the audit plan
    • Review of the key network elements from a technical standpoint to provide assurance on the adequacy of controls to mitigate and/or manage the technology risk to acceptable levels
    • Assessment of network technologies deployed including configurations, capacity, quality of service, parameters & settings, access control, data protection standards, auditing techniques deployed etc.
    • Providing independent assurance during system implementations / upgrade of systems in the network domain.
    • Prepare deliverables/reports for senior management that include insights into thematic issues, trends and other micro/macro level risks within the network domain.
    • Serve as an on-going subject matter expert in the area of controls and best practices in the network domain.
    • Manage assignment level quality requirements in all audit work in conformance to Internal policies, standards (IPPF) and procedures for consistent quality audit results.
    • Follow up audit recommendations and validate the implementation of the closure actions.

    • Keep abreast with the latest Network trends and provide input to mitigate emerging threats

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Upper second-class degree in telecommunications, Electrical and Electronics engineering, Computer Science, IT (or related technical / business field) from a recognized university.
    • 5-7 years’ experience in auditing/assurance of network infrastructure and services or working in an IT or Technology department specifically dealing with advanced networks.
    • Knowledge of routing protocols (MPLS, LDP, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF)
    • Experience with routers, switches, Firewalls, IP telecommunication equipment, technologies, processes and systems.
    • Certification in networking or information security or IT audit such as CCNA/CISSP/OSCP/CISA would be an added advantage
    • Strong interpersonal skills communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Excellent reporting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Proven ability to self-start and effectively manage multiple assignments.
    • Experience in the use of data analysis tools
    • The ability to work under pressure and be resilient and tenacious to get results
    • Experience gained from working in an assurance role within a Telecommunications company will be an added advantage

    Cloud and Container Operations Lead

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager – Core IT Infrastructure the holder of the position shall provide expertise and leadership in designing, planning and operations of the Cloud and Container management platforms to support DevOps and Business projects.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for building Cloud Principle journeys, Strategies and structures towards delivring a Cluoud fluent at scale while applying DevSecOps principles.
    • Responsible for building, maintaining and supporting high-performance, fault-tolerant, scalable and distributed Cloud and Container Platforms.
    • Responsible for interfacing with application development teams to ensure applications fit within the Cloud Infrastructure with scalability, reliability and security designed and implemented from the onset.
    • Responsible for establishing and improving team processes and workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity of people  and systems.
    • Responsible for reviewing Cloud Providers and Cloud technologies and defining digital transformation models, policies and roadmaps.
    • Responsible for Buiding and managing Cloud Container Platforms (ECS,EKS,AKS, ).
    • Responsible for Ensuring Security Standards are well defined, Controlled Permission and Service deployements.
    • Lead in automation ofCloud infrastructure deployments at massive scale to support scaling of digital services.
    • Lead the ‘Open source first’as a fit for the future intiative within the function.
    •  Responsible for CapEx and OpEx planning within the Cloud & Container management domain.
    • Provide team management to the Cloud & Container management team

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Job Requirements

    • BSc Degree in computer science, Computer Technology, Information Technology or engineering.
    • 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure support and/or planning in an environment with mixed VMware and Redhat virtualization.
    • 3+ years’ experience in Public Cloud Planning and/or Support in a busy environment.
    • Extensive experience in Public Cloud Platforms and Tools.
    • Experience with Container/PaaS orchestration/management platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, CloudFoundry.Tanzu.
    • Extensive knowledge of enterprise Linux Server Operating Systems such as RHEL/ CentOS, Ubuntu.
    • Experience with Configuration Management eg Chef, Ansible, Terraform.
    • Good understanding of build tools, CI/CD, Devops and Agile principles.
    • Cloud knowledge and integration models.
