    Development Coordination and Food System Consultant

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support to UNEP's implementation of the Joint SDG Fund Food Systems Programme in Ghana, particularly on food-environment policy coherence, biodiversity integration, and nature-positive food systems. The incumbent will perform the following duties:
    • Conduct policy, institutional and stakeholder analyses, and develop technical reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products to strengthen the environmental sustainability of food systems.
    • Support the establishment and operationalization of the National Food-Environment Policy Coherence Platform, including stakeholder engagement, consultations, and coordination with government, UN agencies and partners.
    • Lead the development of the Food Systems-Biodiversity Alignment Toolbox and related guidance materials to support integration of biodiversity, climate and environmental considerations into food systems planning.
    • Support programme monitoring, reporting, capacity-building, and documentation of UNEP's contribution to the Joint SDG Fund Programme and broader food systems agenda in Ghana.

    Qualifications/special skills

    • An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in in a field related to environment science, food systems, conservation, natural resource management, engineering, project management, economics or related fields is required.
    • A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
    • A Minimum of 2 years level in sustainable development and environmental implementation programmes, projects and activities, especially focused on ecosystems conservation and restoration, food systems and environmental policy is required.
    • Experience in the international organization is desirable.

    Behavioral Science Intern

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in drafting analyses of the impact and potential benefits of BeSci for UNEP’s work.
    • Assist in mapping existing projects and best practices on BeSci withing UNEP, and relevant best practices from UN sister organizations.
    • Assist in populating the TEAMS channel of the CoP on BeSci, including reports and publications, initiatives, trainings and events.
    • Assist in organizing the meetings of the CoP on BeSci Steering Committee (e.g., communications, preparation of presentations, notetaking, etc.).
    • Support the organisation of events and webinars on behavioural science themes relevant to UNEP’s work.
    • Support in drafting outreach and communication materials relating to the activities of the CoP on BeSci.
    • Carry out other duties relevant to the Intern’s educational background.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

    • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school Programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
    • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree Programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
    • Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. Field of study: Behavioral Science, Business Psychology or another related field is required.
    • Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
    • However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
    •  Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria?

    Communications Intern

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The intern will support the team in the furtherance of its communication and outreach work. Tasks to be undertaken under the supervision of substantive experts will include:

    • Support the development of in-house meeting coverage of the Secretariat's annual meetings.
    • Support the development of global communication campaigns to mark World Ozone Day and the 10th anniversary of the Kigali Amendment.
    • Support meetings taking place during the internship period by providing communications, branding and logistical assistance, specifically the Meeting of the Parties (November).

    Qualifications/special skills
