    Ethics & Compliance Counsel

    Job Purpose/Mission  

    • The Legal & Compliance department of ENGIE Energy Access (EEA) is opening a mid-level position with a special focus on supporting the EEA Ethics Officer in the implementation of the Group’s ethics policies and the fulfilment of its mission as established by the ENGIE Ethics line.   

    Responsibilities 

    • Dissemination of the Ethics referential documents and policies 
    • Support the organization of bespoke training sessions across markets and locations, and coordinate / monitor the completion of the fundamental ENGIE Group online trainings
    •  Lead Ethics due diligence processes (data base research, commission of external due diligence investigations, propose recommendations on next steps for the business) 
    • Give advice in line with ENGIE Ethics policies to EEA stakeholders (eg Country teams) on topics such as Business Consultants policies, conflicts of interest, charitable donations, insertion of Ethics clauses in contracts, required due diligence processes
    •  Help animate the Monthly Ethics Calls for all Country Management, and lead related Ethics initiatives with in-country Ethics Liaison Officers and other relevant EEA departments (Customer Finance compliance team, HR, Finance)
    •  Support the Ethics Officer with the reporting and follow-ups on Ethics incidents and related action plans, as well as with more general Group reporting activities, including the Ethics annual report and any ad hoc audits. 
    • Investigate incidents and make recommendations. 
    • Take a lead role in the implementation of the ethics and compliance policies across EEA and coordinate the dedicated registry 
    • Depending on EEA’s needs and the team’s workload, provide general legal support including on corporate housekeeping matters for the EEA legal entities across jurisdictions  

    Knowledge and skills  

    Experience: 

    • Minimum 3 years of work experience, with at least 1 year of directly relevant experience required for success in the role 
    •  Specific experience in an Ethics / Compliance focused role in a law firm or international company 
    • Ability to manage own workload, in the context of supporting and balancing various teams who may have different volumes and urgency of work at different times 
    • Flexibility in providing support to multiple teams across multiple offices, geographically dispersed 
    • Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness 
    • Discretion is a must as the candidate will work with departments that handle highly confidential and sensitive information. 

    Qualifications: 

    • Law degree (Master’s level) from a reputable university 
    • Qualification focused on Compliance / Ethics is a plus 
    • Good understanding of both English and French Language.

    Field Quality Assurance Specialist

    Job Purpose/Mission 

    • Majority of the EEA’s business line product value chain activities including distribution, repair, refurbishment, and sales are in Africa. The Quality Assurance function is therefore centrally placed to monitor the end-to-end product quality during in-land distribution to points of sales, installation at customers, maintenance, and refurbishment to the end of life of the product. The aim of the Field Quality Assurance role is to therefore ensure the integrity of EEA’s products as they move across the different steps of the value chain in the field (both forward and reverse).

    Responsibilities

    • Actively Build and establish processes related to management of product quality in the field. Manage product swaps, identify process gaps in collaboration with country QA, upskill the team and manage data and tools in the process effectively.
    • Analyze produce failures in the field within warranty and provide custodianship of the warranty claims process. Run the Supplier Failure Report (SFR) process and tools regularly, escalate and ensure closure of warranty claims, and upskill the team on product diagnosis and data management to facilitate warranty claims.
    • Investigate Product failures in the field above prescribed EEA threshold and escalate for further action. Actively monitor product performance metrics on a prescribed interval, initiate FFR (Field Failure Report) for products with significant infant failure rate, escalate product failures to internal stakeholders (R&D and Manufacturing Quality team), and disseminate feedback to operations on the ground.
    • Be the contact point person between MQ China, R&D and Country team (supplier test instructions, shipment of a sample of defects, any additional data requests regarding the product failures). Ensure processes and tools for identifying hardware failures from customers and tech centers are functioning, oversee testing of samples to determine root causes of failures / swaps, monitor the “No-problem-found” or “false swap” cases and provide improvement measures for the accurate implementation of corrective actions.
    • Develop and maintain scorecard metrics for measuring the health of products (product quality) across the EEA value chain in the field working closely with engineering and MQ in China. Define measurable KPIs, set strategic goals for in-country teams, set up tools to measure and visualize those indicators, monitor and report product health, infant and in warranty mortality.
    • Perform necessary data analytics using appropriate data management skills to provide insights on hardware and software issues affecting products after sales. Handle requests for swaps data, product sales portfolio data, product health / performance data while regularly updating the necessary dashboards and raising any data integrity concerns to key stakeholders.
    • Ensure the integrity of the Field QA process by organizing and conducting regular audits on processes, data and other important topics pertaining to the performance of the product in the field. Identify topics, plan audits, implement audits, implement solutions and monitor results.

    Knowledge and skills 

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control, quality management, production/manufacturing quality, lean management, or related fields. 
    • Ability to get hands-on, analyze processes, determine gaps, and formulate solutions to improve quality control in daily operations. 
    • Technical knowledge of formulating standards, policies, processes, and procedures suiting multiple operations to achieve QC goals. 
    • 2 years project management experience (planning, scheduling, and execution): we are looking for entrepreneurial candidates who have started or contributed significantly to a project or team.  
    • Electronic troubleshooting and diagnosis experience for products is relevant. 
    • Previous experience working with consumer hardware products 
    • Ability to work with cross-cultural teams and bring together diverse teams 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, engineering, mathematics, data science, lean, quality management or related fields. 
    • Master’s degree is an added advantage 
    • Strong critical thinking and data analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, distill, and analyze complex data sets, and presentation of data.
