    Manager.Corporate Policies and Automation

    The ideal candidate will be tasked with driving quality and revenue growth by implementing and automating Kenya Airways’ Global sales policies (Corporate policy and Trade policy) in accordance with the company strategy and commercial targets, in order to prevent yield dilution and optimize revenue, market share and cost margin.  

    Key accountabilities include;

    External Relationship Management

    • Manage and safe guard external relationships of the Company:
    • Officially represent Kenya Airways with all Sales automation system vendors.
    • Build and maintain relationships with the partner airlines especially AF-KLM - who we cooperate with on commercial policies in the JV - and relevant Skyteam partners.

     Steering and influencing team 

    • To influence the actions of the regional sales teams and the Distribution teams - in order to ensure alignment, awareness, acceptance and compliance to the sales policies.
    • Regular communication on amendments and updates to the sales policies and tools used to manage compliance.
    • Regular audits and reporting on compliance in all markets in KQs network.   

    Internal Processes

    • Manage and safe guard the Corporate policy and Trade policy of the Company:
    • Ensure effective and accurate administration (Legal, Pricing and fiscal).
    • Ensure good relations with various Business Units, namely, Commercial performance, Finance, Marketing, Revenue management
    • Excellent coordination with Regions, Areas and Countries is necessary to achieve success due to the global scope of the role

     Business Plan & Management Information  

    • Define, develop, coordinate and steer implementation of the Commercial Sales Business Plan actions related to Global Corporate Sales and Distribution:
    • Play a key role in defining the Commercial vision and strategy, particularly the distribution strategy and the Trade and Corporate policies.
    • Define corresponding Key Performance Indicators & provide timely and relevant information supporting the monitoring and steering.  

    Commercial Activities

    • Lead Global Corporate Sales and Distribution to contribute to the commercial sales targets: e.g. revenues and margin maximization, profitable market share growth.

    • Global Corporate Sales:
      • Build synergies with Skyteam and JV partners in order to increase attractiveness of contracts.
      • Monitor contracts’ performance together with Corporate Travel Mgrs.
    • Global Distribution:

      Designing policies to push lowest cost distribution channels and monitor and evaluate performance of markets towards that objective.

    Distribution Strategy and Policies:

    • Follow industry and competitive trends to make sure KQ is always ahead of the curve in terms of Distribution strategy.
    • Review Trade and Corporate policies regularly (at least once a year) to ensure the competitiveness of our trade and corporate contracts.

    Qualifications

    • University graduate in a relevant area of study
    • At least 8 years work experience in Sales/Marketing/Revenue Management.
    • Minimum 5 years Management experience within the airline industry.
    • Computer literate with very good knowledge of MS Excel
    • Good negotiation skills
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team
    • Strong analytical and visionary skills
    • Ability to work in a changing environment
    • A good organization and planning skills

    Manager.Cargo Security

    Job Purpose Statement

    Responsible for overall Cargo, Mail and courier security to implement, enforce and coordinate security systems and procedures for Kenya Airways terminals, freighters, cargo, mail and courier shipments network wide, in order to meet objectives of Kenya Airways and the requirements of KCAA as per NCASP minimum requirements, European Union requirements on RA3/ACC3, TSA Model security program regulatory requirements on cargo security and IATA International Aviation Regulations on cargo security.

    Key duties and responsibilities

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards – IATA Cargo Standards, KCAA Regulated Agent regime, EU Regulations on Cargo Security and TSA Regulations on cargo security.
    • Develop and ensure implementation of procedures for effective screening and secure storage of cargo, courier and mail during handling. Manage cargo, Courier and Mail screening and address all X-RAY maintenance.
    • Develop and ensure implementation of processes and procedures to address cargo terminal and airside security.
    • Ensure full implementation of cargo security SLAs by cargo handlers and Cargo Customer Airlines.
    • Continuously assess risks and threats of cargo security operations and implement mitigating action network wide.
    • Coordinate gathering of intelligence on acts of unlawful interference against cargo operations and analyze, collect data and initiate counter measures.
    • Revamp Quality control activities at cargo operations.
    • Prepare, monitor and control the Cargo security budget to ensure effective cost control.
    • Ensure effective management of Cargo operations Security staff HR issues to drive high performance.
    • Ensure that the company meets its contract obligation with regards to Cargo customer airlines being provided with security services by Kenya Airways’ security.

    Qualifications

    • University degree or relevant professional qualification
    • At least five years’ experience in security management in a reputable organization.
    • Advanced university degree in a relevant discipline will be added advantage Additional certification on ware housing operations will be added advantage
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Organizational, planning and analytical skills.
    • IT proficiency
    • Knowledge of Criminal Procedure, Penal Code and Evidence Act.
    • Security certification form a recognized institution

    Security Agent.Airport Operations Security

    Job Purpose Statement

    Protect the aircraft, passengers, baggage, cargo and company property against the acts of unlawful interference including terrorism, sabotage, drug trafficking and theft.

    Key duties and Accountabilities

    • Ensure physical security for aircraft, staffs and passengers.
    • Be a change agent in driving a security culture in operations.
    • Effect measure to enhance IOSA & ISAGO and Maintain EU ACC3& RA certification.
    • Effect lost and found items procedures at all times.
    • Prevent pilferage from baggage/cargo within KQ custody.
    • Protect staff from harassment and assault while within KQ facilities.
    • Respond to safety emergencies incidents promptly to ensure minimum causalities.
    • Ensure third party adherence to SLA’s and contractual requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in criminology or relevant Diploma professional qualification.
    • 3 years’ experience in security investigations in a reputable organization.
    • Knowledge of criminal procedure code, Evidence Act and the Penal Code.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • IT proficiency.
    • Excellent and proven Forensic and Fraud skills.
    • Excellent and proven criminal investigation skills.
    • Report writing.
    • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
    • Organizational, planning and analytical skills including time management.

    Security Agent.K9 Unit

    Job Purpose Statement

    To ensure security of aircraft, staff baggage, cargo and other company property against acts of unlawful interference with focus on ensuring good care, health and training of canines for effective prevention and detection of illicit drug trafficking and detection of explosives on KQ aircrafts.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Gather and disseminate intelligence on illicit drugs trafficking in order to prevent and detect employee involvement.
    • Ensure effective use and deployment of canines.
    • Ensure effective prevention and detection of illicit drug trafficking and explosives on KQ aircrafts.
    • Provide security for company aircrafts while on ground e.g. access control, to prevent acts of unlawful interference.
    • Liaise with law enforcement officers and other stakeholders on issues of explosive detection and illicit drug trafficking.
    • Ensure effective training and exercising of dogs.
    • Ensure proper feeding, grooming, care safety and prompt alertness to any signs of sickness or change in demeanor of canines.
    • Ensure all reports on assigned areas are communicated/ recorded by the end of work duty period.
    • Administer First Aid to canines in the event of injury before elaborating veterinary care is provided.
    • Ensure cleanliness of canine kennels, vehicle, equipment and surroundings.
    • Regularly weigh dogs.
    • Ensure Revenue Integrity

    Qualifications

    • High school graduate with minimum aggregate of C
    • 5 years of relevant experience
    • Valid driving license (3 years’ experience)
    • Certificate in Narcotic Detection Dog Handler course
    • Certificate in Explosive Detection Dog Handler course
    • Excellent skills in handling and use of sniffer canines
    • Knowledge of Criminal Procedure Code, Evidence Act, Penal Code
    • Knowledge of Animal Diseases Act, Cruelty to Animals Act and Rabies Act
