    Channel Operations Assistant

    Reporting to the Channel Lead and supporting Centre Managers, the purpose of this role is to ensure effective administrative and financial oversight of all channel activities with a specific focus on: effective management of stock, accuracy of records, appropriate documentation of all financial transactions and reconciliations, and administrative facilitation & reporting. He/she is responsible for developing, monitoring and implementing effective systems that enable efficient use of resources in accordance with organization’s policies and the respective donor policies/guidelines. The role will support functions necessary for the day to day operations of the Channel Lead, ensuring support requests are addressed in a timely manner.

    The Operations Assistant will use his or her excellent knowledge of programme and commercial operations and is expected to be pro-active in resolving challenges in a bid to ensure effective use of resources and compliance. He/she will sustain collaborative relationships with Channel Lead, Centre teams and other MSK team members to drive value for money and ensure effective coordination of channel operational activities. The Operations Assistant is expected to participate in the Centre’s review meetings and provide logistical support to Channel Lead and team members’ activities.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Business Management /Administration or related discipline
    • Conversant with latest technologies in procurement system & electronic health records & financial reporting

    Skills:

    • Proven experience providing excellent administrative support in a fast-paced business environment/Non-governmental organization.
    • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Attention to details; ability to spot inconsistencies in reports and data.
    • Experience editing written communication.
    • Ability to work well with others in team environments, build consensus and drive change.
    • Ability to work in deadline driven environment with competing priorities.

    Programmes & Operations Director

    Under supervision from the Country Director, the Programmes and Operations Director will contribute to the organizational strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of the business plan. S/he is responsible for the overall results, reporting and management of the relevant donor-funded programmes, ensuring that strategy is effectively implemented and informed by evidence as well as new business development.

    MSK runs both donor led projects and channels, such as Outreach and Public Sector Support, but it also runs not-for profit, yet income generating clinics and hospitals that need to run as commercially sustained businesses. The Programmes and Operations Director is ultimately responsible for the financial sustainability of the MSK channels.

    As a member of the Country Management Team, the position holder provides leadership, guidance, technical support and capacity building to the Operations and Programme teams, whilst ensuring adherence to all MSI standard policies and best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in Business Management or Public Health or other related and relevant discipline, experience may be taken in lieu of qualifications

    Health Financing Officer

    The Health Financing Officer -will be responsible for corporate business growth of centres with a critical focus on Private Medical Insurance Providers & NHIF, learning Institutions, SMEs and Corporate Organizations. The post holder will develop, grow and manage these income streams.

    The post holder must be able to identify and seek opportunities to expand the insurance and corporate business base through harnessing the current clients and enrolling new ones. The post holder will be the client liaison person, seeking to improve repeat visits and assuring client satisfaction and referral.

    The Health Financing Officer should be able to sustain close and collaborative relationships with other MSK departments to leverage opportunities that drive business. This function will entail aspects of Business & Market analysis, New business development, Relationship Management, Business remodeling with the incorporation of innovations.

    The Health Financing Officer shall be responsible for credit management for all the centres channel corporate Business.

    The poster holder will be required to have at least 3 years of experience in Corporate/Health Insurance Sales and Marketing especially in a service industry, most preferably clinical business and should have good managerial skills and experience. The post involves extensive national travel.

    Education and Experience

    Permanent Method Provider

    Reporting to the Channel Lead Outreach, the Permanent Method Provider is responsible for the delivery of the permanent methods strategy within Marie Stopes Kenya Outreach (FPO) and selected Marie Stopes Kenya (MSK) Centres. FPO teams deliver high quality family planning including permanent methods to the poorest,marginalized and hardest to reach areas of Kenya, and deliver the majority of MSK’s health impact.

    The post holder will directly be responsible for the permanent methods delivery from selected teams. He/she will be responsible for increasing accountability in terms of mitigating fraud, increasing the productivity and quality of care of the permanent services. He/she will be closely supported by other teams across MSK and monitored routinely by the channel lead on the progress made.

    Qualifications:

    Skills and attitude:

    • Experience in provision of permanent methods for over 2 years
    • Experience in improving clinical quality through supportive supervision and mentorship
    • Experience in dynamic, fast paced problem solving and turning around teams with challenges
    • Experience as a line manager including performance management is desirable
    • Experience in reproductive health programming is desirable
    • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office package
    • Analytical ability and a creative thinker
    • Fluency in both written and spoken English with exceptional writing and presentation skills

    • Ability to manage a very heavy and fluctuating work load.
